## Zagazig University Hospitals :

-Are six major hospitals associated with the Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University School of Medicine. The faculty of Medicine got ISO 9001 :: 2000 from the German TUV Institute, since 2005 till now

-The hospitals serve a population of about 6 million people, in the Shrkya Governorate , Comprising most of the country side in Egypt .

- the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department has 6 units for conventional Obstetrics and Gynaecology work . Each unit has 3 residents (SHO/Reg.) , 3 assistant lecturer , and 6-10 senior staff .

-About 8000 deliveries , 5000 acute Gynaecologic cases and 4000 “ cold “ cases are admitted to the department every year .

-Our department is equipped with modern diagnostic and intervention equipment such as laparoscopy,hysteroscopy,colposcopy and four dimentional ultrasonography.

-There is 6 specialized units** Perinatal diagnosis** Fetomaternal medicine** Infertility and assisted reproduction.** Endoscopy.** Oncology.** Cytogenetics

## Al-Banoon Fertility Center : - A Private assisted reproduction unit(ART), Zagazig, Egypt

- Established on Augest, 2004.

-The unit Offers the latest treatment stratigies and modalities of ART.

# As a resident : I was on a 1:3 duty rota . I was responsible for the emergency Obstetrics and Gynaecology cases . I was familiar with dealing with uncomplicated & complicated pregnancies and labour . I gained experience in monitoring both the mother and the foetus during pregnancy and labour.

I also managed acute Gynaecologic cases as abortions, complicated ovarian cysts and performed about 50 % of the list operations.I had a weekly clinic for each of Gynaecology , Obstetrics, contraception and inFertility.

# AS an assistant lecturer :The assistant lecturer shares in clinical practice, teaching and research.

- Regarding clinical practice , I was on a 1 : 6 duty rota .which included full day emergency responsibility. I was responsible for teaching residents , interns and nurses .Each week, there was an operation list , out patient clinics for Obstetrics, Gynaecology , Contraception and inFertility and 2-3 word rounds .

- Regarding teaching ,I was responsible for classes of 25 –30 undergraduate medical students, twice weekly as part of our work .

-Research is very vital during this period , my registration for Medical Dectorate degree has helped me a lot , beside my previous thesis for master degree .

Since my appointment as assistant lecturer , I was included as a member in the assisted reproductive technology unit in our department . Complete inFertility work up and managements are done in this unit . We used to perform semen analysis , artificial insemination husband and in-vitro fertilization in the laboratory .

A clinical attachment was done with the IVF unit of Nile Badrawy Hospital ( a private unit for assisted reproduction in Cairo ,established in 1989) to introduce ICSI in our program . This was achieved from 1999 till now.

# AS a lecturer:The lecturer shares in clinical practice, teaching and research as well

- Regarding teaching ,I was responsible for classes of 25 –30 undergraduate medical students, twice weekly and classes of 25-30 postgraduate medical students once weekly as part of our work

- Regarding research, ** Perform researches, either single or in groups with my colleages in the department or other departments.

** Supervision of M.Sc. thesis and essay( one year after my appointment as lecturer)

** Supervision of MD thesis ( 3 years after my appointment as lecturer)

- I was the scientific director of the IVF unit of Zagazig University Hospitals from 25/9/2001 till now.

- I have been the clinical director of AlBanoon fertility centre ( private IVF centre, Zagazig) from 1/8/2004 till now.

- I was chosen to be ISO coordinator, Our Faculty got ISO 9001 : 2000 accredition from the German TUV Institute, since 2005 till now

# AS an associate professor & Professor:Share in clinical practice, teaching , research as well as contribution in National Projects

Regarding clinical practice , I am on a 1 : 14 duty rota( third on call) for emergency responsibility. I am responsible for teaching assistant lecturer ,residents , interns and nurses .

- Regarding teaching ,I am responsible for classes of 25 –30 undergraduate medical students, once weekly and classes of 25-30 postgraduate medical students once weekly as part of our work

- Regarding research, ** Perform researches, either single or in groups with my colleages in the department or other departments.

** Supervision of M.Sc. and M.D. thesis and essay.

-For Contribution in national projects: I submitted a research for Zagazig School of Medicine * I am the principal investigator( I chosen the subject, put the whole strategy, chosen the team work from different departments for the completetion of the work) *This research has been submitted among many others, and was chosen to be of prior importance in serving our population

- * The research was also sponsered from Alexandria Regional center for women health, Alexandria. The director of the center is Prof Hassan N Salam, Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Alexandria University School of Medicine, MD, FRCOG,. The study title was: Protection of Ovarian Function in Young Women Exposed to Cytotoxic Treatment. It was presented in ASRM, Orlando, October 15-19, 2011 and in MEFS, Lebanon, November 16-19, 2011 with the following title{ GONADOTROPIN −RELEASING HORMONE ANALOGUE COTREATMENT DOES NOT PRESERVE OVARIAN FUNCTION IN YOUNG WOMEN RECEIVING CYCLOPHOSPHAMIDE− BASED CHEMOTHERAPY: A PROSPECTIVE, MULTICENTER, RANDOMIZED TRIAL.}
