Blending Existing Forecasts with Real-time Weather Observations:
▪ Compare current observation with existing forecast for same hour (rendered previous
hour);
▪ No change applied if delta Temp <=2°F
▪ For delta Temp >2°F:
▪ Maintain directional trend (warmer if delta is warmer; colder if colder);
▪ Using weighted delta (~80%, ~65%, ~55%, etc.) to next forecast hour;
▪ Repeat through a maximum change of 8-hours, or
▪ Repeat until forecast delta returns to compliance (delta TEMP [original vs. corrected]
<=2°F);
▪ All corrections capped at +/- 5°F on the original MAX and MIN
