Application and customer challenges
A wide variety of products / orders are sent in corrugated
boxes and have a tendency to shift inside the box. Therefore
Svenskt Kosttillskott was looking for an effective voidfill/
blocking solution. Previously they were using a cardboard
shredder but that was deemed too dusty by the receiving
consumers and the employees complained about inhaling
dust particles. So they decided to switch to plastic based
airbags. While this solved the dust issues, it unfortunately
lead to another problem. Airbags deflated/ got punctured
during transport, leading to a strong increase in damage rates
and customer claims. Another issue was the ergonomics for
the employees, so they brought in an expert from Jarfalla,
who recommended a different solution.

Started in 2005 as a pure play e-commerce company they
have experienced massive growth. Svenskt started out with
mainly vitamins and proteins, but nowadays sell anything
related to living a fit life (nutritional products, powders, sports
clothing, dumbbells etc). The growth materialized because of
an extreme focus on customer care, the quick delivery and low
prices make them the market leader with a focus on Swedish
and European brands, Next to this Svenskt also has a wide

Business results
Happy employees and happy customers, what more
could we ask for? According to Oliver the packers are
more productive and the damage rates decreased
significantly. Customers are no longer complaining so
the packaging is doing the job it needs to do.
Future: We will continue to grow and add more SKU’s
to our portfilio, needing a new warehouse soon.
Paper will remain our preferred voidfill product.

Solutions In 2011 Svenskt decided to start a test with Ranpak’s
FillPak TT cutters. DS Smith (Swedish Distributor of Ranpak
solutions) had established themselves as a solutions-
oriented valued partner that looks for improvements
together with Svenskt Kosttillskott and proposed a TT cutter
for each of the packing benches. Now every individual
packers has voidfill material available directly at the point
of packing, drastically improving the speed of packing and
reducing the ergonomic strain on the employees.
