Customer Information 1 November 2016 DyStar L.P. Acquires the Specialty Chemical Businesses of Emerald Performance Materials Dear Valued Customer, On October 31, DyStar, L.P. (DyStar) acquired the three (3) specialty chemical units (Carolina Chemical, Hilton Davis and Foam Control) of Emerald Performance Materials, LLC. The Emerald Specialties business unit has a long history of manufacturing FD&C Dyes and Lakes, Dispersions, Industrial Defoamers and Foam Control additives for the food and beverage industry. The acquisition combines the strengths of DyStar and Emerald, by leveraging DyStars strong regional (Americas) network and global reach along with Emeralds diversified product portfolio, R&D team, manufacturing sites, and technical expertise. In addition, the customers of each company will benefit with new products and services. The combined business of DyStar and Emerald will operate chemical manufacturing and distribution sites in Charlotte, NC, Cheyenne, WY, Dalton, GA, and Reidsville, NC and a dye and dispersion manufacturing site in Cincinnati, OH. As a valued customer, you should expect the following after the closing: Emerald customers will continue to have their products shipped and invoiced in the current manner. In addition, your current sales and customer service representative will continue to service your account. Within the first 90 to 180 days, DyStar will integrate Emeralds customers and products into DyStars business system. Shortly before the changeover, we will communicate further details about changes to the business processes. We expect a seamless integration and customers should not experience any disruption of deliveries or invoicing. Both Emerald Specialties and DyStar LP thank you for your business and we look forward to providing new products and enhanced services as a result of the acquisition.
