I tried every home remedy and liquid drain cleaner that I could find. Dumped baking soda or baking powder, maybe both, and vinegar down the drain. My roommate who is usually the home improvement guru used a toilet plunger--gross. The plunger would solve the problem for one or two days max, then back to standing water. Nothing was fixing our bathroom drain issues in the sink AND the tub. The tub was getting so bad that it was dangerous to stand in the shower because the gross scum buildup made the tub so slippery. After I'd step out of the shower, I'd separately rinse my feet with soap and water, then step onto the tile. I was showering at the gym, rather than at home. Eh.....I tried using it and the tip broke off (the yelllow piece) and its really doesnt do well if you have a lot of turns in your drain. It will take out clogs really close to the drain. Published 14 months ago by Pree S

This product did literally nothing for me, August 28, 2013



Pulled out a hair or two, and came out with some brown stuck to it's pipe cleaner type "hooks". Bathtub clog is 100% the same status. Cannot believe I spent $9 on this. I also should have looked into the dimensions, but I was totally expecting a larger snake, this is like a little over a foot.


not effective for serious clogs, April 21, 2013



My bathroom sink was clogged up and I wanted to see if could avoid calling a plumber so I bought a few of the drain cleaning tools I found on amazon. This one looked the most promising but it did not reach far enough to make any difference to my drain. I tried using it multiple times as far as it would go but it did not unclog my drain or even made any minimal difference in the clogging. Maybe on minor drain clogging it could work but in my case, it was a bust.

Nice but a one- or two-use product, March 2, 2013



The thing does what it claims to: pulls huge chunks of hair out of the drain. It is fairly easy to use and really effective. However, once you've done that, it's quite hard to clean the tool off; the packaging suggests using an old toothbrush to clean it, but not everyone has one sitting around (and I'm not going to keep the gross thing sitting around in a drawer while I wait to replace my toothbrush!). I ended up taking a wire cutter and clipping off the end of it, and even though the tool is shorter, it'll work another time if I need it. But after that I'll most likely end up throwing it away. But the tool wasn't expensive, so the potential buyer will have to decide whether $6.96 is a good value for a tool you'd possibly use twice.

My only other comment is this: there was a cordial little letter enclosed with the product, from the owner of the company. In it he says: "If you're not pleased with our tool, please tell ME. If you are pleased with it, please tell the WORLD." Frankly, that's a little annoying. If I have any concerns or issues with a product, you bet I'm going to tell potential buyers, just as I would want them to do the same thing for a product I'm considering buying. And if the seller stands behind their product, they'll just have to deal with public reviews, good or bad; that's how the system works.

This device is really only good for one usage and then you need to throw it out. The wire is also not very strong so when shoving it down a drain it doesn't get very deep and just bends into itself. But it does grab a lot of hair. Not a bad tool to have around.

A Miracle!!!!, December 6, 2013



Miracles do happen! After trying all kinds of drain/hair clog clearing products which gave limited relief, I purchased this simple little tool. I couldn't belief it! For the first time since I redid my master bath 2 years ago, the drain runs clear. And I am the opposite of a handy do-it-yourselfer. I'm a senior and I figure if I can do it anyone can! I am giving one to my daughter and daughter-in-law as a little stocking stuffer this Christmas!

Absolutely fabulous! I've lived in my 70 year old house for two years, and the drain in one bathroom sink has constantly needed attention. I've tried plunging (only works slightly and for a short period of time) and drain cleaners. I didn't want to pay a plumber mega bucks to take apart the drain and clean, so I did a little research on Amazon and tried this. It's like a big pipe cleaner, except it uses a Velcro-like "fingers". Be prepared to be grossed out by what comes out of the drain, I know I was! Great invention!

Best small drain cleaner I've found, November 18, 2013



Drains are the bane of my existence. We have an old house with old pipes, and keeping them maintained can feel like a huge thing. I hate calling the plumber for a stubborn clog that he can clear in five minutes after I've tried for a week. I have bought other plastic drain tools, but they didn't help, or I was afraid they'd break in the drain, causing a bigger problem. This thing pulled out so much hair on its first time down the drain that I was shocked. Cleaning it is no picnic, though, so I may just plan on treating myself to a new one a few times a year. I could buy a dozen and still come out ahead of one plumber call!

Then I ordered this. I was convinced we were going to have to hire a plumber to rip out the whole bathroom to find the problem. We dealt with these horrible drain issues for months. I took this thing out of the packaging and immediately was unimpressed. I don't know what I imaged, but the "legs" are so small, you can hardly see them. It feels cheap. I've never solved a drain problem before. I think that I followed a youtube video and inserted this thing into the drain, terrified that it would get caught on something and then my landlord would be pissed. I inserted this thing as far as it would go, I was unable to do a 360ºcircle with the tool. I slowly pulled it out of the drain and.... I could not believe - it didn't get stuck and all the disgusting gross crap that came out of the sink drain!!!!! I should have been wearing a rain suit with a SCUBA mask and I definitely should have moved our toothbrushes away from the splatter I wasn't expecting. Gross.

I reinserted this thing back into the sink drain about 5x. I used gloves to scoop up the gunk into a trash bag. I repeated this process in the bathtub drain, using the same FlexiSnake. I could not believe what and how much came out. I sent photos to my roommates so they would think I was a genius who spent hours fixing this problem and they'd be grateful and buy me dinner. But, honestly, it took about 5 minutes. (shhhh)

After using this, I spent an hour thoroughly cleaning the tub and sink. We waited far too long to solve that drain problem. Then I took a long shower, spending most of the shower looking down at my feet watching the water immediately go down the drain. I cannot believe how well this thing worked!!!!!!!!! It has been about a month since I used this thing and every time I shower, I am still impressed by how well this thing worked!

As another reviewer stated, I also threw this away at the end of cleaning these two drains. I considered trying to save it to reuse, but it wasn't worth the cleanup or figuring out where/how to store it. I was thrilled to pay the price for this item, even as a one time use tool. I'll be happy to purchase another one, if I ever need it. In fact, if you have friends who are moving in together for the first time or know a girl with long thick hair or know someone moving into their first house/apartment/dorm, I think this thing should go in a gift basket along with other random items you can give the people you love that improves human household knowledge to help people solve the problems that everyone eventually experiences. Like onion glasses and a DIVA cup.

I am so glad that I know this thing exists. I highly, highly recommend this item.

I bought this after using the cheesy drain snake that came with a bottle of Liquid Plumr. That snake worked OK, but it fell apart quickly. This item is more akin to a very rugged pipe cleaner (meaning those pipe cleaners you use for arts and crafts). It is just stiff enough to cram into my awkward shower drain and flexible enough to get deep in there. It will pull up large globs of hair and other gross stuff easily.

Cleaning (Misc.)

After reading both the positive and negative reviews about this product, I decided to spend the seven bucks and give it a shot. My showers were rapidly turning into unwanted baths, and after five minutes I'd be standing in ankle-deep water. I'd tried Liquid Plumr and Drano, and they seemed to help a bit, but I couldn't find anything that would clear the drain completely.

After receiving the FlexiSnake, I was dubious. It is essentially a piece of flexible wire wrapped in hook velcro. It feels pretty flimsy, and I was worried that I'd made a bad purchase. I gave it a shot anyway, and fed it down the drain of the tub. I was amazed at what it pulled out! Gobs of hair from what was probably years ago, over and over again. I kept inserting it until just a little past when it stopped, and kept pulling out more and more gunk. When all was said and done, I had a clean, free flowing drain.

A couple suggestions/notes:

- If you have the ability to remove the drain cap to make the drain opening as unobstructed as possible, do it. This will make the job a lot less time consuming.- The FlexiSnake was only about 14" inches long. If the obstruction is deep inside the drain, you'd be better off disassembling the pipe at the J-Bend and getting at the clog from there.- I've used this on four separate occasions, and have had success with it each time. Clean it after each use by pulling off the hair from the FlexiSnake and rinse it under hot water. I see no reason that this can't be used over and over again, with proper cleaning. Again, it's just like hook velcro, so cleaning it is just like pulling stray hairs from that, just on a larger (and ickier) scale. I had no problem cleaning it after each use, so I'm not quite sure why other reviewers had such trouble.- You could certainly buy a professional drain auger for at least three times the price, and it would get the job done as well. However, if you don't know what you're doing with that, you have the potential to damage the bathroom fixtures or pipes. A hard metal snake can easily scratch and ding drain rings and sinks.

An easy 5 star rating for me.

Best hair removal and drain cleaner, August 23, 2013



I used this one time and in less than a minute I removed years of hair that still remained after using chemical drain cleaners numerous times. They are only a temporary and short term fix. Ditch the chemical cleaners and give this product a chance because I promise you will never go back. It really works. Definitely use rubber gloves when using it because it will scratch your hands. It's made of a Velcro type of material. Also, I warn you it's gross to see the crud that is in your drain but worth it. You will save money also because it is reusable.

Great drain cleaner, November 14, 2013



It works. It's weird looking, but the little tentacles really do grab hair and pull it out. My drain has been much better since I got it. As a bonus, I was able to use it to retrieve a small rubber thimble that had gotten down the bathtub drain.

A miracle worker. Quick, effective. Completely solved in seconds a reoccurring problem we had for years. Bathroom sinks and showers.I would suggest cleaning the shower/tub before the sink. Because showers only have hair. Sinks typically have a sort of mud (toothpaste) which messes up the device more. After a sink job, it's time to throw it away. If they threatened to stop making these I would buy up a supply hoard. Six Stars!

After using it, I followed up with lye to get out the last 2% that this thing misses. But even without the lye, the FlexiSnake did a six star job.

Love this product. I have very long hair which creates frequent clogs in my bathroom sink. I refuse to use harsh chemicals in my house. The FlexiSnake works fast and is very easy to use. While its not very long it gets right to where long hair clogs form. I am a fan.

Awesome! I bought a house with a shower/tub combo. My previous home had a shower stall with a built in hair catcher drain. So, I never thought about my drain getting clogged. Long story short in 2 days my new shower was clogged. This came in the mail today and i opened it and used it immediatly.. To my relief it grabbed the hair andpulled it out. I repeated the process 4x till i saw that no more hair is was coming out. My shower now drains faster that before it got clogged. Thank goodness!

* I also purchased Slip-X solutions Two Stop-a-clog drain protectors which i installed right after uncloggng the shower/tub. This product also works great!

The product does what it says very well, pulls things out of your drain, but it's basically useless after one go -- terrible for heavily clogged drains. Save yourself the trouble and buy a bunch of pipe cleaners at a craft store that do the same thing. Very overpriced for the benefit, in my opinion. I would not purchase again. My shower is still clogged.

Slow drain fixed in less than 5 minutes, August 20, 2013



I have been fighting with an extremely slow sink drain in my master bath for the last few months. I have cleaned the p-trap and conducted multiple rounds of liquid drain clearing products with minimal to no improvement. I was going to purchase and install a new drain, but thought I'd give this a try first. After running the sink and poking this down between the stopper for less than five minutes, i was able to remove all the gunk in the drain and return to a free flowing drain.

One thing to note is that product is fairly long (longer than it appears in the pictures) and could potentially clear a clog down to the bottom of the p-trap.

Could not be more impressed with this unassuming product.

Received this in the mail this morning; and I decided to try it out right away! The water in my sink had been draining slowly again! This little tool brought up so much hair and other debris that my baking soda, cider vinegar, and plunger routine had not been able to do. I did run some water on it first to soften it; and I found that an old toothbrush cleaned the gunk off pretty good. I filled a bucket with some water; and would clean the tool off frequently as I was working. I highly recommend this; I might order another one for a spare.

It pulled out some very nasty stuff, but it cleared the drain. I recommend this product for small jobs. It doesn't fit in the grate for my tub, however.

This opened the bathroom sink drain in less than 5 minutes- as long as you are not squeamish you can run it under hot water and clean it for reuse. Also I did have to use the plunger but after one plunge I couldn't keep water in the sink to plunge anything else.Highly recommend for the price

Good product. Simpily put, it works. That said, the rotation with the "crank" handle is difficult to rotate, but a in and out movement also works to clear the hair clogs. It's so "grabby" and effective for hair that it can be a bit difficult to clean afterwards.

Did the job!, June 16, 2013



I have tried several methods to unclog a slow draining bathroom sink, but never acheived much success until now. I was shopping for other items when I saw FlexiSnake and thought, what the heck...for $7, why not try it? Wow! It really pulled the gunk out of that drain! A few tips, though. (1) Wear rubber gloves (the item is rather prickly, plus you probably don't want to touch the stuff that will be on it), (2) have an old rag or paper towels handy and, (3) have a bucket of water nearby. When you get a glob of gunk out of the drain rinse the FlexiSnake in the bucket of water & pull off as much of the gunk as possible. Repeat this process mutliple times until the drain is cleared or you can't stand looking at any more of the nasty stuff that's coming out of it. I disposed of the water from the bucket by pouring it on the ground in the far corner of my yard where nothing grows; I definitely didn't want to pour it down the toilet or any other drain. Will recommend to friends & purchase again. Fast delivery/no issues.

This is the BEST, simplest, reusable, nontoxic drain cleaner EVER INVENTED. Seriously, I spent $5 on this at a big-box store after wasting so much more money on nasty chemicals that didn't work. This is simple--you stick it into the drain, give it a few twists, and pull up gag-inducing clumps of junk from deep in your drain. I used it on the bathroom sink and the tub, and it SOLVED THE PROBLEM easily

and effectively, in a total of about 2 minutes. My husband couldn't believe such a simple tool was so effective. Clean-up was a lot easier than I thought it might be (although at half the price of a bottle of drain cleaner, I was prepared to throw it out): I picked off the bigger stuff, gave the Millipede a rinse, then easily finished the job using an old fingernail brush. From start to finish, it took well under 10 minutes. GREAT STOCKING STUFFER IDEA!

I JUST received this AMAZING drain cleaning tool and man, does this ever work!!!!! My drain has been sluggish for some time now and after using this, the water is really flowing!!!! However, what comes out of the drain is pretty nasty!!!!! Make sure you are not getting ready to eat before using this as it will make you gag when you see the gunk that comes out!!!!!

Good bargain, December 11, 2012



I got this product hoping that it would be worth the money and it was.It is very easy to use and is effective at UN logging drains. I have used it several times now and its still holding up well. The only problem I have is that its difficult to clean.


it's not like the snake you know, but it really works, April 2, 2013



this is not like your traditional plumbing drain snake. it's about 2 foot long and probably the thickness of a USB cable. It's coated with what looks like velcro hairs sticking out from it. I was skeptical till i tried it. boy does it work. i wouldn't use this to clear out a real blockage, but it works great for getting hair and gunk out. snake your tub and sink drain every couple of weeks and be a happy camper with no slow drains !

What more can I say? It does exactly what it is supposed to do. I put it down my drain in the bathtub where my dog has had many baths. And it brought out lots of yucky dog fur. Sometimes, the simplest products provide the best solution. And this is one of those times.

This is a nice product. Only thing is it is tough to remove the hairs from the hook fibers. I tried a toothbrush like it says but still couldn't get everything off completely. But, it does work.

I chose this item because of the mostly positive reviews it received and am glad I did. It really works, and works well and easily.I have been trying for months to fix the slow water draining problem in the bathroom sink I use most often. Nothing changed at all until I used this. Unwind from package, stick down the sink drain and twist. I pulled out a lot of slimy hair, cleaned it off and stuck down there again on the other side of the stopper. More hair. Now the water flows down the drain like it never had anything stopping it up. Use it. An inexpensive fix to a very common problem. Don't call a plumber, save the big bucks for when you really need it.

Ordered this for the shower drain. I'm unable to remove the stopper and needed something that would fit to remove hair clogs. It works quite well. The only problem is getting the hair off knee removed. Use got water and untaggle.

It works great, but kind of a pain to clean. I would recommend though, definitely better than calling a plumber! Our sink had had a funny smell for the past year since we moved in, I tried all sorts of things but finally tried this and removed all sorts of brown goo and some hair. I'm not sure what it was (poop???) but I don't really want to know what it was. I removed it and now our bathroom hardly ever has a smell.

Cleaned a blocked sink drain in no time at all.

The only down side is these grip hair so well, that it makes cleaning them of all the hair almost impossible. I do a quick clean up, then place in a zip lock bag ready for its next use.

Took a few times but it got a lot of hair out. Not really easy to clean, but then again its only purpose is to be in a drain so as long as I can use it a few times a year, it should be fine. We'll see as more hair gets stuck to it, if it becomes less useful.

Does the job but impossible to "clean". Kind of makes me wonder if it is a one time use tool. Impossible to get the hair off of it all the way, kind of gross. Bagged it in a plastic bag for re-use, though I may end up tossing it and getting a hair catcher to begin with.

I had such high hopes for this hair clog tool, but sadly I was disappointed. I just couldn’t get the darn thing to go down the tub drain. I pushed and poked the tool under the drain stopper, but the thin pipe-cleaner shaped tool would just bend and curl and not go down more than a few inches.

The plastic fibers that makeup the tool are also very sharp. After a few minutes of trying to force the tool down the drain I ended up with several long scratches on my fingers. I put on a pair of medical gloves, but the fibers quickly ripped the thin rubber. In the end I had to put on a pair of leather gardening gloves to keep my fingers from getting abused.

After about 30 minutes of work the tool did manage to pull up a few clumps of hair, but not nearly enough to unclog the drain. I guess I’ll have to call a plumber.

My bathroom sink was totally plugged up. Saw this handy dandy little device and thought, "self, this should work!" Guess what, it worked perfectly and now I have a sink that drains extremely well. Lots cheaper than a plumber, lol. Perfect for women who have no honey dotypes hanging around....

Did a great job pulling hair out of the drain. A little hard to clean afterward. Could be a little longer.

Unclogged the drain, really a one time use item however., November 21, 2013



Worked great, removed the clog in the sink drain. Sink does not back up any more. It pulled up the sludge and hair mixture that was clogging the sink after about 4 passes down into the drain. The bad thing is that it was so gunked up afterwards, I had to throw it away. But for the price it would cost about the same for drain cleaner that won't work on a real clog anyways so still worth it. It says that you can clean the snake when done with it, but with all the grabby hooks on it, there is no possible way to justify trying to clean it for the price. If you want your money's worth, go around jam it down all your drains, clear the gunk out of any drains you can and then toss it. Will buy another one next time I get another clogged drain.

It was a little smaller than I expected, but was long enough for the job. It worked just fine and pulled out the clog. I used another one once with plastic teeth that did a better job. But I like how this one is bendable. It's a little hard to clean afterwards, but doable. I cleaned mine with the sprayer in my kitchen sink. Much cheaper than a plumber! This got my clog out when drano would not.

Does the job. Got goop in your bathroom drain? This will fish it out, and you're good to go. Clean up is a little nasty, but it is reusable so worth the effort.

Out of the box, this works AMAZING! Pulled so much nasty stuff out of the shower that immediately sped up the draining process. The one complaint is the ability to clean the teeth. They are so small that it becomes very challenging to pull all the hair off in order to be used again.

This product worked well on my clogged bathroom sink. It says it's reusable if you clean it with an old toothbrush. However, it pulled up so much gross stuff that there's no way I can simply "brush" it clean to use again. So great product, but pricey for a single use.

I was skeptical about this product, but since it was very cheap I decided to try it.I received it today, and it works just as promised. I couldn't believe how easy and fast was to unclog the drain pipe of the sink in my bathroom, by simply following the instructions on the package! It's a little bit more complicated to clean it up afterwards (you need to wash it with a brush), but it does not take more than a couple minutes to do it. I would definitely recommend this product to any friend.

I have a really old house with old pipes. Our bathtub gets backed up regularly, despite having a filter over the drain for soap and hair. After being really grossed out by a plunging experience, I decided to give this a try. The Amazon feedback was right! This is snagged a lot of filth from our drain and cleared it up within 5 minutes. But be prepared, you might get sprayed with nastiness from the drain. So this isn't meant to last multiple uses, but it has held up for 2 uses already.

I have the usual story for why I bought this. Tub draining like it gets paid per hour and not per job, yadyadyada. I stuck this down, didn't even really have to do much snaking at all, and bam my drain has once again returned to its former state of being underappreciated for its existence. radio home improvement show and decided to give it a try. I was totally amazed at how easy it was to get my drain unclogged. The best part of it was that It saved me the frustration of having my husband take apart the pipes to clean them out. The tool was black and yukky after I used it so I threw it away and purchased another one so I will have it if I ever need it again. I guess some people clean them off and reuse them.

I didn't even have to stuff this thing all the way down the tub drain. I have really long hair. I stuck it in a few inches and it pulled out a big gob. I used side cutters to cut off the 3 or 4 inches that were full of hair. There's no way to clean the thing. But there's plenty left for next time. I've lived here 5 years and have only had the clog problem the past 6 months or so. So if my hair clogs it up again in another 5 years, well it looks like it's going to last a long time! After I had cut it, I stuffed it down there, and nothing came out, so I guess the whole clog was right by the the drain hole.

I looked at so many different products on amazon and was still undecided on what product to order. I ended up with the FlexiSnake and so glad I did. When I removed it from the box, I discovered it wasa little too rough to be a good back-scratcher. So I headed to the bathroom andwithin a few moments my drain was unclogged and cleaned of all the residue and has not caused me any other problems. I was so impressed I cleaned the remaining sinks in the house. It's gross, like really gross, but the product works as advertised.

discover you might want to discard it. Heck, considering the price versus a plumber or even drain-o, get a few and consider them disposable. I'm not advocating waste or destroying the environment, just saying it's cheap ... and works ... and gross things are in clogged sinks ... until you use this inexpensive flexisnake that works on removing gross things from your sink. This item works great. It got more hair out of the sink and bath tub drains than I have ever been able to do. The only thing is it is a hard to clean. The hair sticks to the it, but I had a big clog. It does the job. It is small enough to go in any drain and now I don't have to use the tweezers anymore.

Amazing little gadget. I have a daughter with hair to the middle of her back, so I am constantly battling hair in the drain. I hate to use the chemical uncloggers (heaven only know what that stuff is), but have frequently had to resort to that. No more! This thing pulled a hank of hair about the size of a kitten out of my drain in no time at all. I highly recommend it.
