Welcome! Now that your child has an account, we’ve created a checklist to help you feel confident that you know what your child can and can’t do whilst they’re enjoying Club Penguin. In Club Penguin, your child can play games, chat with friends, adopt pets, decorate their igloos... and plenty more! This printable checklist will help you understand what your child will be doing and know where to go if you need any help on your child’s Club Penguin journey. Read through the Club Penguin Rules with your child Just like offline clubs, Club Penguin has rules to make it a safe and enjoyable place. It’s important to take a few minutes to read through them together and make sure you and your child understand them. www.clubpenguin.com/rules Find out together Take some time to sit with your child and explore together; you could even create your own penguin to play alongside them. Your child will enjoy showing you around and you’ll find out their favourite activities on the site. Set up Parent Tools Once your child has created their penguin, you can set up a Parent Account. This will give you access to some fantastic Parent Tools, allowing you to set a timer to restrict how long your child can play each day, see their usage history and manage their account. Create your account here: www.clubpenguin.com/parent-tools Get to know how moderation works Club Penguin takes your child’s safety and enjoyment very seriously. It employs adults to work as moderators to review chat and activities and also uses software to filter out inappropriate language. Club Penguin moderators move around the island to help children enjoy their time in the game. If your child sees a penguin breaking the Club Penguin rules, they can report them to a moderator by clicking on that penguin and selecting the moderator badge on their player card. Your child will then see a message asking if they want to send a report to a moderator and be asked to select a reason for the report from a list that includes ‘bad words’ and ‘rude or mean’. Every report is investigated by the moderators who determine whether action needs to be taken. Your Child’s Penguin Name and Password Record your child’s penguin name here – once they’ve logged in a few times they’ll remember it but they’re probably going to turn to you if they forget! Remind your child not to share their password with others, even their friends – but it’s a good idea for you to record it somewhere safe for them. __________________’s penguin name is_________________ The Club Penguin password is: ______________________ General top tips for safe internet use to share with your child wherever they go online • Never give out personal information online.

It’s important to take a few minutes to read through them together and make sure you and your child understand them.www.clubpenguin.com/rules

Find out togetherTake some time to sit with your child and explore together; you could even create your own penguin to play alongside them.

Create your account here: www.clubpenguin.com/parent-tools

Get to know how moderation works Club Penguin takes your child’s safety and enjoyment very seriously.

Your Child’s Penguin Name and Password

Record your child’s penguin name here – once they’ve logged

in a few times they’ll remember it but they’re probably going

to turn to you if they forget! Remind your child not to share

their password with others, even their friends – but it’s a

good idea for you to record it somewhere safe for them.
