A Message from the President

Welcome to Cuyahoga Community College, Ohio’s oldest and largest community college. Since our founding in 1963, more than 700,000 students have chosen to be a part of the Tri-C legacy: the place Where Futures Begin™. As a premier educational institution, Tri-C is in the forefront of teaching and learning and we are proud of the many fine faculty members we have as part of our family. Our outstanding faculty – including several Ohio Professors of the Year – and dedicated administrators and staff are committed to your success. Our counselors are ready to guide you through your Tri-C career from developing your educational plan to exploring career options. The faculty, administrators and staff of Tri-C truly enjoy the challenge of helping students meet and then exceed their educational goals. Perhaps that is why an amazing 86 percent of our graduates say they would strongly recommend Tri-C to anyone seeking the same kind of program they studied. The College offers more than 100 career and technical programs and the liberal arts. Our liberal arts courses are designed to provide you with the first two years of a baccalaureate degree, and our articulation agreements make your Tri-C credits easily transferable to four-year institutions where you can complete your degree. Learning is enjoyable in Tri-C’s attractive, well-maintained, state-of-the-art facilities. Each of our locations is equipped with the very latest computers, technology and Internet access.

Take the time to visit Key Career Place located at each of our campuses. The staff can assist you with internships, writing your resume and preparing you for job interviews so you are prepared to enter the workforce with your new knowledge and skills. If you are looking to start a business, Key Entrepreneur Development Center will help you build a strong, profitable business. Assistance is provided to budding entrepreneurs with new ideas and to established business owners at the Center.

Congratulations on your decision to be a part of the Tri-C legacy. We look forward to helping you map your career and launch you on your pathway to success. Sincerely,

Jerry Sue Thornton, Ph.D. President

Education at Cuyahoga Community College is a life-changing experience. More than 700,000 present and former students have been touched by the Tri-C experience. The College has enriched the lives and built solid futures for all who have enrolled, from the hopeful students who stood in line at the Brownell building more than 36 years ago to register for the College’s first classes to today’s students that register through the Web. The far-reaching effects of education at Tri-C have touched not only the individual students, but their families and the entire community.

Service to Students with Disability ACCESS/Disability Services provides support and arranges accommodations for students with disabilities. To receive services, students must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment at Tri-C, have an established need for academic assistance, and provide documentation of their disability at least eight weeks before classes start. ACCESS is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the State of Ohio and Tri-C.
