Abhinav Agarwal SPO Reg. No. Y5-A-BT-EE-16

Objective: To obtain a job as a Hardware design engineer that challenges and enhances mytechnical skills and offers future growth and learning opportunities.

Areas of interest: Analog and Digital VLSI design, Embedded systems hardware design

    Educational record:

    Year Examination Institution Performance

    2002 - 2006Bachelor of Technology

    Electrical Engineering

    Projects:

Use of SOI devices in ultra low standby voltage SRAM cells (August 05 - Present): As

my senior year B. Tech. project under the guidance of Dr. Aloke Dutta, I am analyzing thevoltage characteristics of bulk MOSFETs used in memory cells with the goal of minimizing

leakage current and static power dissipation. I am also investigating how Silicon on Insulator(SOI) devices like the Dynamic Threshold MOSFETs would perform in this architecture.

Profiling and Debug support for ARM core based URLAP Processor platform(May 05 July 05):This project was a part of my summer internship at Ecole Polytechnique

Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, under the guidance of Dr. Paolo Ienne. My workincluded developing computer emulation for the Profiling Coprocessor that allows the user to

view the results of profiling the processor in real time. I also developed service routines for a

debug coprocessor to allow the user to debug programs through source code.

Motherboard, User Interface Hardware and Firmware of a Gas Chromatograph

(May 04 July 04): The project was done during my Summer Internship at Quazar

Technologies, Delhi, India. Various detector cards were interfaced with a centralmotherboard card, which also controlled the display on a graphical LCD. The firmware was

written in C and run on AT8051RC controller with a provision of record storage on an

External EEPROM. The Gas chromatograph will be soon launched in the market.

Programmable Blocks (February 04 April 04): The project aimed at developing a

commercially viable physical programming tool that can be used to control robots withoutthe use of computers. The prototype developed consisted of a stack of electronic blocks

representing a program to be executed on dc motors. This project was guided byDr.Amitabha Mukherjee, Head of Center for Robotics, IITK. This project was a finalist at

    Endeavor, Techkriti 04, IITK.

Shooting Game on CRO Screen (Feb 04): I developed a breadboard circuit consisting

of analog and digital circuitry to implement a shooting game on a CRO screen for theElectronic Circuit Design Competition at Techkriti 04, IITK. It was selected among the

    10 finalists.
