DUPLANO - Projeto e Obras de Engenharia Civil, Lda. July 2011 – September 2011 Full time 3-month internship at consulting engineering office focussed on: Stability design projects. Construction site supervision. Planning of bill of quantities, measurements and estimated costs. This internship allowed me to explore distinctive areas of our craft. EDUCATION TÉCNICO LISBOA, University of Lisbon - #1 in Portugal according to Shanghai’s ARWU 2014 ranking MSc in Civil Engineering Structural Branch [Overall Grade: 14/20] Core competencies: Structure’s rehabilitation and reinforcement; Steel and composite structures; Seismic design and seismic performance evaluation. Master thesis under guidance of Professor Doctor Rita Bento: “Seismic Design and Assessment of Irregular 3-Storey Concentric Braced Steel Frame Buildings”. [Grade: 18/20] Research work aimed at developing an improved force based design procedure for designing earthquake resisting steel structures focussed on steel concentric braced frames. Moreover an extensive non-linear static analysis and dynamic non-linear analysis was successfully completed to assess the seismic performance of the previously designed structures. Structure’s modelling and subsequent seismic performance evaluation was developed in non-linear analysis software OpenSees [developed @ University of California, Berkeley]. VOLUNTEERING AND RELEVANT SKILLS Volunteering at Gawad Kalinga Foundation, Philippines August 2014 – September 2014 In Tacloban region brutally hit by super typhoon Yolanda I was involved in construction and rehabilitation of both structures and highways in the aid of the much in need Tacloban communities.
