Siemens Ltd was awarded the Managed Equipment Services contract for the new 800 bed Fiona Stanley hospital in Perth WA. The contract includes the evaluation, recommendation, sourcing, procurement, delivery, commissioning and 10 years operational maintenance of the major clinical equipment for the hospital. Role Profile Lead the ‘Recommended Subcontractor Report’ process as part of the overall procurement activity, to ensure timely submission of documentation against project timeframes. This involved approximately 65 procurement and subcontract packages totalling approx. $250m spend and >100 vendors. The achievements below contributed to the hospital meeting its target opening dates. Key Achievements Negotiated with vendors on pricing, discounts, payment terms, contractual conditions, liabilities and delivery expectations for equipment and service & maintenance subcontracts. Supported the package procurement and legal teams to ensure subcontracts were executed. Role Profile Reporting to the CFO, I was responsible for the commercial and financial integrity of the two businesses within the Siemens Energy sector. The businesses supplied products, solutions and services to generators, energy distributors and retailers. Annual business volume ranged from $150 – 300m and a total staff complement of approx. 120 with 12 direct reports. Contracts ranged from $50k to $200m in value. Key Achievements

• Negotiated and agreed annual business targets, budgets and strategies (in conjunction with Vice President) with key stakeholders (Parent company and local CEO/CFO)

• Achieved a high degree of businesses meeting targets despite unfavourable market conditions in the Australian and New Zealand Energy sector.

• Rolled out the company’s Transfer Pricing & Risk and Profit sharing model, set up to facilitate international collaboration and accurate reporting of major power projects with major imported content. This involved implementing the scheme and training >100 staff.

Oct 2004 – Oct 2011 Siemens Ltd -– Energy Sector Executive Commercial Manager

Reporting to the CFO, I was responsible for the commercial and financial integrity of the Marketing faculty of the Siemens Energy sector as well as direct financial and controlling responsibility for certain business units. Annual business volume ranged from $500 – 900m and a total staff complement of approx. 400 with 15 direct reports. Contacts ranged from $50k to $300m in value. Key Achievements

• Negotiated and agreed annual business targets, budgets and strategies (in conjunction with Vice President) with key stakeholders (Parent company and local CEO/CFO) across all Energy sector business. This totalled >20 business units requiring liaising and negotiating with different stakeholders in numerous countries.

• Set up the ‘Major Projects Organisation’ in Australia and New Zealand together with the Energy CEO. This was in response to the growth in the number of major capital energy projects being placed in the region. This facilitated the processes, agreed responsibilities, engagement of personnel, risk and profit sharing models, the financial & controlling systems and documentation of internal agreements.

• Proposed and rolled out the commercial structure for an Expertise Based Organisation as part of a company realignment. This involved identifying where specific skills lay and where they fitted into the organisation – marketing, sales and operations and defining the roles.

• Rolled out clear documentation for Pricing Policies, Activity Based Costing methods, Product Offerings, Sales and Project Review methodologies.

• Played a key role in the due diligence, negotiation and acquisition of a rotating plant (small steam turbine/generators) workshop in Adelaide. Developed a short and medium term business plan.

• Responsible for the financial integration of the Alstom small gas turbine business into the local company following the global acquisition by Siemens AG. Once integrated this became part of the business portfolio.

• Introduced and drove the Economic Value Added concept as tool to measure financial performance into the organisation by running workshops and training sessions. This resulted in a much closer attention to the key performance drivers.

• Managed the employee performance incentive scheme for Marketing, Sales and Operational staff.
