1 CURRICULUM VITAE Apostolos Tassikas (born 1973, Trikala/Greece) has completed his legal studies at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Faculty of Law (with distinction for the academic year 1990-1991), at the Johannes Gutenberg-University of Mainz (1993-1994, Erasmus Scholarship) and at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University of Frankfurt/M. (1995- 1996, LL.M. and 1997-2001, Ph.D.). He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1995 (LL.B.). In 1996 he has received a postgraduate degree in Law (LL.M.) from the Faculty of Law of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University of Frankfurt/M. with the highest distinction (grade: „summa cum laude“, awarded with the “Pünder Preis 1996”). In 2002 he was awarded his Ph.D. degree in Law from the same Faculty with the highest distinction (grade: „summa cum laude“). During his studies he was awarded scholarships by the Greek “State Scholarships Foundation” (I.K.Y.), by the “Erasmus Scholarship” (European Student’s Exchange Programme) and by the “International Study Scholarship” of the University of Frankfurt/M. CURRICULUM VITAE

Apostolos Tassikas (born 1973, Trikala/Greece) has completed his legal studies at the

National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Faculty of Law (with distinction for the

academic year 1990-1991), at the Johannes Gutenberg-University of Mainz (1993-1994,

Erasmus Scholarship) and at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University of Frankfurt/M. (1995-

1996, LL.M. and 1997-2001, Ph.D.).

He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens in

1995 (LL.B.).

In 1996 he has received a postgraduate degree in Law (LL.M.) from the Faculty of Law of

the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University of Frankfurt/M. with the highest distinction (grade:

„summa cum laude“, awarded with the “Pünder Preis 1996”).

In 2002 he was awarded his Ph.D. degree in Law from the same Faculty with the highest

distinction (grade: „summa cum laude“).

During his studies he was awarded scholarships by the Greek “State Scholarships

Foundation” (I.K.Y.), by the “Erasmus Scholarship” (European Student’s Exchange

Programme) and by the “International Study Scholarship” of the University of Frankfurt/M.

He taught as a delegate lecturer (“Lehrbeauftragter”) “Introduction to the Greek Law and

the Greek Legal Terminology” at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University of Frankfurt/M.

(1999-2001).

He has delivered several lectures in “European Civil Procedural Law”, in “Atypical

Consumer: Rights & Obligations” (postgraduate program).

In January 2018 he was Visiting Lecturer at the Julius-Maximilian University of Würzburg,

Germany (in term for research).

Since 2015 he is member of the “Research Institute for Transparency, Corruption and

Financial Crime” (RITCFC) of Aristotle University, Law School. As scientific researcher he

has delivered several lectures on “Contemporary issues of financial transactions” and a

speech on “Fighting Corruption Contracts in the Greek civil law”.

He participates at standing committees of the Law School Faculty and is member of several

administrative working groups at the University. He is member of the University’s Legal

Committee.

His scientific and research interests focus with (non-exclusive) emphasis on Civil Law

(General Principles of Civil Law, Theory of Legal Acts etc.), on Law of Transactions

(Contracts, Obligations, Property etc.), on Family and Succession Law, on European Private

and Financial Law, on Consumer Protection Law (Credit Contracts, Standardized Contract

Terms etc.).

He is a scientific associate for the Greek academic journal “Theory and Practice of Civil

Law & Civil Procedure Law” [‘Efarmoges Astikou Dikaiou’, publisher: Nomiki Bibliothiki].

He publishes at legal journals and reviews as ‘Armenopoulos’, ‘Chronika Idiotikou Dikaiou’

(“Chronicles of Private Law”), ‘Episkopisi Emporikou Dikaiou’ (“Oversight of Commercial

Law”). He has published attributions in several ‘Libri amicorum’ and Honorary or

Commemorative Volumes and Collective Works (i.e. annotated codes) and has made

conference speeches in Greek, English and German.

He is a member of the “Greek Association of Civil Law”, of the “Greek Family Law

Society”, of the “European Association for Family and Succession Law (EFL)”, of the

“Hellenic Association for Financial Law (AEDBF-Greece)”, of the “Deutscher Anwaltverein

(DAV), Greece“ (and former member of the „Gesellschaft für Rechtsvergleichung e.V.“,

„Deutsch-Griechischer Juristenverein e.V.“, and „Verein Griechischer Akademiker Frankfurt

am Main e.V.“).

Since 2011 he participates (pro bono) to the Governing Board of the Charitable Scholarships

Foundation “Alexandros I. Svolos”.

He is also member of the Athens Bar Association (since 1998) admitted by the Court of

First Instance, the Court of Appeal (since 2004), the Supreme Court (since 2011) and member

of the Frankfurt/M. Bar Association (as a European lawyer), admitted by the Court of First

Instance in Frankfurt/M. (since 2002).

He is Accredited Mediator in Civil and Commercial Disputes (since 2015) certified by the

Greek Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights, educated and trained by
