Rotation/position adjustmentUsing the grayscale and normalizedcorrelation functions the CV-500Series rotates the reference imagewithin the specified angle range to findthe reference image with the highestcorrelation ratio. This rotation methodenhances the detection ability ofangled images ensuring high speedand high accuracy detection.
Sub-pixel processing provides 10 times the resolu-tion of conventional modelsConventional systems process an image in units of one pixel. The CV-500 Series provides a higher accuracy by processing in units of 0.1pixel. This method ensures precise measurement and positioning.
A low-cost space saving vision systemKEYENCE is the first to develop the built-in controller monitor. The CV-500 Series provides the highest-level performance in this class, at alow cost. One controller can connect to two cameras. Images from bothcameras can be processed simultaneously without decreasing theprocessing speed. A two-camera system offers a wider range ofapplications by using the split screen display and the combined display.
No PC or software requiredThe CV-500 Series has been designed to operate as a stand-aloneunit. The Easy Action System makes set-up simple, a PC or special-ized software is not required to set-up the system. As RS-232Cconnection is, however, provided for optional PC communication.

The newly developed PLP-LSI and RISC CPU support differentiation/measurement.PLP-RISCDue to the newly developed PLP-LSI (Pipe Line Process-LSI) and high-speed RISC CPU,processing required for the differentiation/measurement modes can be performed at a high speed.The PLP-LSI and RISC CPU support all the functions.
Sub-pixel processingThe sub-pixel processing method uses 0.1 pixels as thebasic unit in image processing, providing a higherresolution. In addition to sub-pixel processing, reading allsquare-latticed pixels allows high-accuracy measurement.
256-level gray processingGray processing recognizes 256-level brightness data ofthe image and uses the data for detection. Moreover,normalized correlation processing allows stable inspec-tion, even if the ambient brightness changes.
Tolerance judgement/judgement outputTolerances can be set and judged in each window. Thejudgement result can be checked with the indicator on themenu screen. And the judgement result signal can beoutput from the terminal.
High-speed position adjustmentPosition adjustment in the rotational direction is performedat the highest speed in this class. The position deviation oftargets travelling on the line is corrected on the screen.This function is useful to differentiate targets that cannotbe positioned easily.
Synchronizing shutter functionThe synchronizing shutter function is used to reliablycapture a target travelling on the line at high speed. Thisallows correct, high-accuracy inspection.
Auto-sequence functionThe previously registered inspection programs can beswitched automatically and quickly using a trigger signal.The auto-sequence function allows complicated multi-point inspection in a short time.
Two cameras connectableTwo cameras can be connected to a single controller. Thisallows simultaneous inspection of 2 differentiation areas.And measurement can be performed using imagesdisplayed on the screen split into 2 sections or imagesresulting from window composition.
Digital interfaceThe CV-500 Series can be connected to a personalcomputer through the RS-232C. The settings can beeasily stored or called out, and the data can be easilyoutput.
ScalingThe measured dimensions or position coordinates arenormally displayed in units of pixels. When the datacalculation is set, these values can be converted anddisplayed in units of mm or µm.
