Renáta Hosnedlová is PhD in Sociology from the Complutense University of Madrid(UCM), Spain ( Summa cum Laude, European mention, and Award for Best PhD Thesis inSociology at Complutense University of Madrid during 2014). She has an international profile which includes Bachelor Degree in the Czech Republic,Master Degree and Doctorate in Spain, and Post-doctoral position in France.She carried out the early stage of her career at the Spanish National Research Council,where she did her PhD thesis under supervision of Diego Ramiro Fariñas (CSIC), AmparoGonzález (CSIC) and Lorenzo Cachón Rodríguez (UCM), with the support of a four yearPhD grant. During her doctoral formation she participated in different research projects carriedout by the Department of Population (IEGD-CSIC), part of Population Europe Network ofleading centers in Demography. Besides, she did research stays at three internationalinstitutions (National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; University of Toulouse 2 – Le Mirailin France; University of Manchester in UK).

Furthermore, she gained more experience as a researcher in France, especially in the Laboratory of Excellence Structuring of Social Worlds (LabEx SMS) at the FederalUniversity of Toulouse Midi-Pyrenée.Currently, she is a postdoctoral fellow at LabEx SMS, conducting her own projecttitled: “Longitudinal or transverse approach in return migration decision-making?: The caseof Ukrainians in times of economic crisis and war”. Also, she is collaborating on tworesearch projects: TEMPER (Temporary versus Permanent Migration) Funded under: FP7-SSH, Project 2014-2018 and APROVICO (Analyse du PROcessus de VIeillissement par laméthode des COhortes) 2014-16. Moreover, she is a member of the initiative ‘UkrainianMigration to the European Union’, coordinated by Dr. Marta Kindler (CMR Poland) in theframework of the European network IMISCOE.

Her professional trajectory comprises a variety of high-quality research initiatives: published 4peer-reviewed articles, 1 book chapters, 1 article and 1 book chapter are under secondreview; presented 11 papers in national and international conferences and seminars;participated in the organization of various scientific events; and gave some postgraduatecourses at the University of Toulouse and CSIC (in French and Spanish).

Throughout her academic career, she had a multidisciplinary training in Sociology,Demography and Anthropology with specialization in international migration issues, andapplication of qualitative and quantitative methods in social sciences. However, she also hassome research experience in the field of health, aging and historical demography. She hasa strong background in management of large and complex databases and analysis of cross-sectional and longitudinal data both from surveys and population-based registers and withnetwork analysis.
