TAPAN KAUSHIKBHAI SHAH
PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
As a capable and experienced CFD engineer, I am very good at creating CAD models and
generating mesh keeping in mind the CFD application and computational limitations. I am
also capable of processing and documenting the results and creating visualizations of the
same to make a clear understanding of the physics involved in the study at hand, and provide
suggestions regarding improvements in the designs.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
2013-2014 Master of Science at Cranfield University, UK
Computational Fluid dynamics
Core subjects included Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer, Grid Generation,
Numerical Methods, Compressible flows, Incompressible flows, Turbulence
Modelling, High Performance Computing, Environmental flows, and CFD for
Aerospace.
Dissertation: “Truck Front Optimization Using Advanced CFD Methods”
Feb, 2014 to Sept, 2014: DAF Trucks, Netherlands
The MSc. thesis work was performed in coordination with requirements provided by
DAF Trucks, Netherlands. The aim of the work was to obtain an optimized truck front
shape using CFD methods based on previous work, and implement the front shape in a
full tractor- trailer truck configuration, and evaluate the flow in vicinity of the truck.
Roles and Responsibilities
Creation of CAD models with different leading edges, and generating mesh.
Selection of boundary conditions based the type of simulation and validation.
Computation and processing of the results including the validation with existing
experimental results.
Documentation of the examination and providing suggestions regarding the
aerodynamic efficiency of the truck based on the leading edge shape
2008-2012 Bachelor of Engineering at Manipal University, India
Aeronautical Engineering
Core subjects included Mathematics, Fluid mechanics, Aerodynamics, Computational
Fluid Dynamics, Aeroelasticity, Helicopter Engineering, Finite Element Analysis,
Computer Aided Design, High speed Aerodynamics, Structures, and Manufacturing
Methods, Avionics and Control systems.
Dissertation: “Calculation of Aerodynamics coefficients for Airship envelops”
