• Provide private instruction for both undergraduate and graduate level students, including music performance, music education, and non-majors;

Chamber Music Performances with Carpe Diem String Quartet: Carpe Diem String Quartet, First Violin and Co-Founder (2005 - present)

Carpe Diem curates and performs a concert series in Columbus, Ohio, at the Columbus Museum of Art. Each year the ensemble gives 5 weekends of concerts (a Thursday night program, and two concerts on Sunday, a free family concert and a more traditional matinee concert) with preceding community engagement activities. In general, the series concerts are listed only once on this CV.

2014 – present the Boulder Piano Quartet

The Boulder Piano Quartet, with Matt Dane, viola, Thomas Heinrich, cello and David Korevaar, piano, maintains a concert series at the Academy in Boulder, giving 3 – 4 programs each season, along with other occasional regional concerts.

2009 - 2016 the mealies, founding member

The mealies was founded after a collaboration between Carpe Diem String Quartet and folk/rock guitarist and song writer Willy Porter. The group writes, arranges and performs music of Mr. Porter, fusing classical idioms to a folk-rock and genre, and performs original music. The group has released one CD as a joint venture between Seize the Music label and Weasel Records, and has collaborated towards a second CD on Weasel Records.

1990 - 2007 Opus 3 Piano Trio, founding member

Opus 3 Trio was incorporated as a not for profit 501©-3 organization with a core mission to present contemporary music on every public concert. Opus 3 commissioned many new works, and recorded two CDs, one of which was comprised entirely of works written for Opus 3. Opus 3 was based in Washington, DC, and organized a series at the National Cathedral School, as well as performing in multiple venues around the DC metropolitan area, including: Strathmore Hall, the Cosmo Club, the Russian Embassy, the French Embassy, the German Embassy, the National Gallery, and the Reston Town Community Center.

1995 - 2004 The High Street Four, founding member

The High Street Four string quartet gave concerts throughout Central Ohio, and presented the first complete Beethoven String Quartet cycle in the city of Columbus.

After considering several possibilities, the program was moved to Siena, Italy where we established our new home in the Accademia Chigiana, one of the most historic and beautiful venues in Europe. Besides the four musicians, the quartet is overseen by a nine-member Board of Trustees, and assisted by numerous volunteers. Carpe Diem is dedicated to achieving the highest level of performance and forging a new identity for chamber music. Carpe Diem is committed to musical education, integration with other art forms, and developing future audiences. In addition to the classics, Carpe Diem performs contemporary music, popular music, and original compositions, thereby augmenting the string quartet repertoire. By performing programs designed to appeal to audiences of all ages and establishing classical music’s relevance to their lives, new audiences are brought into the concert hall to revitalize the chamber music experience. As Co-Executive Director: • Helped create and implement three community engagement programs - Carpe Diem MusiCare, Music Goes to School, and Music from the Start. CarpeDiem MusiCare brings the quartet to nursing homes, Alzheimer units, hospice care and similar facilities. Music Goes to School is active bringing the quartet on a regular basis to area schools, and other educational institutions. Music from the Start is a program developed in cooperation with the Franklin County Head Start centers, bringing the quartet into area Head Start Centers to work with children ages 3-5, from economically challenged households. • Helped create and program Carpe Diem’s ongoing concert series called Seize the

Music. Since 2005, the annual budget has increased almost by 1,000% and audience attendance, including subscriptions, has increased 300%.

• Began a program to make regular outreach visits to the Franklin County Juvenile

Detention Center.

• Serve as the leader of the annual development campaign. Carpe Diem has received major gifts from Fidelity Investments, PNC Arts Alive, Cardinal Health, The Columbus Foundation, and other local businesses and individuals.

• Formed an independent recording label, Seize the Music Recording; serve as

business executive.

Artistic Director, Scale the Summit Music Camp Scale the Summit Chamber Music Camp is designed to accommodate students from age 7 – adult. While the emphasis of musical instruction is placed on chamber music, the camp provides private instruction, classes on music reading, improvisation, and orchestra. Duties include:

The Dercum Center for the Arts is a not for profit dedicated to bringing renowned artists, performers, lectures and teachers to Summit County, Colorado, to enrich and strengthen the community. Duties include season planning, contract negotiations, leading fund raising campaigns and grant writing. The Dercum Center is responsible for planning the Snake River Music Festival, an annual summer music festival that takes place in Keystone, CO, and duties also include all artistic responsibilities. Events/lecturers include: Jon Paul Photographer, Back to the Wild book event, A Holiday Art Fair, A Christmas Carol, Outdoor Film evening with Serac Film Director Mike Brown, Keystone Winter Bluegrass Festival, a Community Concert, and Scale the Summit and Guitars on the Summit.

2002 - 2010 Artistic Director, Marble Cliff Chamber Players

Marble Cliff Chamber Players presented chamber music concerts in venues both within Columbus and Delaware, Ohio. The festival completed all 7 seasons with a balanced budget and increased audience. The Marble Cliff Chamber Players presented 5-6 concerts each summer with artists from Ohio and throughout the United States. All concerts were presented free of charge to the communities, with donations and sponsorships accounting for 100% of all revenue.
