Title: Ecological Studies Date:

Aim: To determine the distribution of species around the school compound

Introduction: (Describe ecological study techniques that would be used)

Materials:

Method: -Construct a 1m2quadrat

- Choose a suitable location around the school compound to carry out the study

- Estimate or measure to entire area to be studied

-Randomly select 15 locations, and thrown the Quadrats

-Identify and count all the species found within the quadrat

-Record all observations on a table

-Calculate the frequency and density of the species identified

- Use sweep nets to collect and identify insects in the area of study

-Record the names of the insects and their numbers in a table
