The bid climate is good, and we expect decent competition among several marine contractors. I'll provide the basic details of the design package at the January General Meeting. When the bids are received in late January we'll have some financial decisions to make so there will be a series of meetings for open discussion and eventual vote on an assessment if necessary. The dates I am about to provide are tentative and Ron will send out formal notifications as necessary. First, we plan to post the plans for bid the first week of January. The prospective bidders will be invited to a site visit the second week of January and may ask any questions within a week. As stated earlier, the bids should be in our hands by the end of January. I intend to call a Special Board Meeting for February 7th to discuss the results of the bids and our options to take forward to the membership. We will hold our normal February General Meeting on February 12th and plan to schedule a member Dock Q&A session for later that same week. That will lead up to a Special Dock Meeting to be called for Late February, where we will present the final options, possible assessments, and call for a vote on the new dock. Confused? It will all become more clearin the month to come. For now, just relax, enjoy the New Year, and let Ron keep us all straight on the important meetings to attend. Speaking of Ron...Go Tigers! I know everyone is ready for the dock construction to begin and I bring great news from the Dock Committee. They met with the engineers and finalized the design to send out for bids in January. The bid climate is good, and we expect decent competition among several marine contractors. I'll provide the basic details of the design package at the January General Meeting.
