Our local Girl Scout Rally is coming up soon! On Saturday, September 8th, families who would

like to get involved with the Girl Scout program can enroll their daughters for this school year.

This rally is for girls who live in the attendance areas for Ault, Keith, Robison and Swenke Elementary schools. Girls in Kindergarten thru 12th grade are invited, including all public, private and home-schooled girls. (Girls living outside our area are also welcome to register, and we can forward your registration to your local group, or you can sign up at a rally closer to your home.) Signing up for one year costs $12 per girl, and a parent or legal guardian is needed to sign the registration form. We are also taking registrations for adults who want to support or lead a local Girl Scout troop, to help make the Girl Scout experience available for more girls in our area.

Girl Scouting is for all girls, from joining in the fun and friendship of

our youngest Kindergarten Daisy troops, to helping older girls grow in confidence and character as they discover

their strengths, connect with others and take action to make the world a better place. Girls can choose to join Girl Scout troops, be independent Girl Scouts, participate in special interest groups like backpacking, drill team or robotics, attend events like skating, sleepovers, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) events, and sign up for Girl Scout camp. High school

Girl Scouts can travel around the world with Girl Scouting, and earn top awards and scholarships

for college.New troops are forming this fall, so it’s the perfect time

to get involved with Girl Scouts. We’d love to have you join us! For further information, please contact our local registrar, Sue

Aldrich, at [email protected], our Girl Scout Council at 800-392-4340 or www.girlscouts.org.

It’s Girl Scout Rally Time! SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH FROM 10AM - 1PM

Deadline: Nov 1, 2012

We would like to thank our shoppers, volunteers, vendors and everyone who supported us at our very successful “Shop Til You Drop” Marketplace.  We sincerely appreciate your efforts.  If you missed it, we are truly sorry, but be sure to keep an eye out for us next September.  You won’t want to miss us again.  See you there!

In October, we are looking forward to meeting our guest Jeanie Dunnihoo, as we are all interested in leading healthy lives.  Jeanie will teach us about Herb Gardening.  In November we will participate in making floral designs for the Holidays courtesy of our friendly HEB.  This will prepare us for a fabulous holiday season!

CWC is a service organization that gives back to the community.  This means that all funds raised will go right back to the community in the

form of scholarships for graduating high school seniors, at Lone Star College, Cy-Fair and grants to other non-profits in our community, as well.

Membership into the Cy-Fair Women’s Club is open to all ladies in Northwest Houston/Cypress neighborhoods.  Currently we meet the first Thursday of most months at West Houston Church of Christ.  Our meetings begin with social time and refreshments at 7:00p.m. immediately followed by a program at 7:30p.m.  The

church is located at the corner of Queenston and West Road. Our monthly meetings are not only educational and enjoyable, but they

develop lasting fellowships.  We look forward to meeting you there!  If you have any questions about our club or need directions to the church, please contact Susan McLeroy, Membership Chair at [email protected].
