The workshop objectives are to:Develop an understanding of how to design knowledge

management systems and approaches internally within

organisations and also within the development of projects.

Illustrate knowledge management approaches with practical

examples from relevant contexts, exploring factors that have

led to success and failure of such initiatives.

Inform and raise awareness of good practices in relation to

the use of ICTs in knowledge and communication for

development initiatives.

Registration

R1700 per participant Registration fee includes lunches, refreshments and

training material. The registration fee does not

include travel, accommodation and other travel

related expenses. These are the responsibility of the

participants or their institutions.

Jon Gregson: He has tutored and jointly authored the SOAS

postgraduate distance learning course on ‘Managing

Knowledge and Communication for Development’. He was a

tutor on SOAS' "ICTs for Development (ICT4D). He has also

headed up the Knowledge Services Department at the Institute

of Development Studies (based at the University of Sussex),

and was involved in a wide range of Knowledge Management

and ICT4D capacity development projects in Africa and Asia

including the DFID funded ‘Mobilising Knowledge for

Development’ and ‘Global Open Knowledge Hub’ projects for

which hewas Programme Director.
