By various accounts, 2012the Year of the Water Dragon
should be a year of optimism ushering in good fortune and trans-
formational changes.
On the heels of the Great Recession, the economy is beginning to
show signs of improvement, but much uncertainty still lies
ahead. Important agenda items for the 2012 Legislative sessioninclude investing in Hawaiis people through a focus on educa-
tion and accountability, promoting responsible developmentwhile ensuring necessary environmental protections, spurring
innovation in the economy, and building Hawaiis health infra-
structure to ensure access to quality health care for all.

ment. Walk-ins also accepted.

pm.IRS-certified volunteers will
assist qualified taxpayers in fil-ing their annual tax returns at
this special tax clinic. Volunteers
will also assist with FAFSA ap-
plications.
The Hawaii Alliance for Com-
munity-Based Economic Devel-
opment (HACBED), Represen-
tative Belatti, and other state
legislators are co-hosting this
event to encourage low-to-
moderate income taxpayers
claim valuable tax credits.
