About the DVD-ROM

Make sure that your computer meets the minimum systemrequirements listed in this section. If your computer doesntmatch up to most of these requirements, you may have a problemusing the contents of the DVD.

* PC running Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or later,or a Macintosh running OS X.* A processor running at 1.6GHz or faster* An Internet connection* At least 1GB of RAM* At least 3GB of available hard disk space* A DVD-ROM drive

*****************************Using the DVD on a PC*****************************

To access the content from the DVD, follow these steps:1. Insert the DVD into your computer's DVD-ROM drive.

The license agreement appears. Note:The interface won'tlaunch if you have autorun disabled. In that case, clickStart > Run (For Windows Vista, Start > All Programs >Accessories > Run). In the dialog box that appears,

type D:\Start.exe. (Replace D with the proper letterif your DVD drive uses a different letter. If you don'tknow the letter, see how your DVD drive is listed underMy Computer.) Click OK.

2. Read through the license agreement, and then click theAccept button if you want to use the DVD. The DVDinterface appears. Simply select the lesson video you wantto view.

*****************************Using the DVD on a Mac*****************************

To install the items from the DVD to your hard drive, follow thesesteps:1. Insert the DVD into your computer's DVD-ROM drive.2. The DVD icon will appear on your desktop; double-click

to open.3. Double-click the Start button.4. Read the license agreement and click the Accept button

to use the DVD.5. The DVD interface will appear. Here you can install the

programs and run the demos.

If you have difficulty installing or using any of the materials on thecompanion DVD, try the following solutions:

* Turn off any anti-virus software that you may haverunning. Installers sometimes mimic virus activity and

can make your computer incorrectly believe that it isbeing infected by a virus. (Be sure to turn theanti-virus software back on later.)

* Close all running programs. The more programs you'rerunning, the less memory is available to other programs.Installers also typically update files and programs;if you keep other programs running, installation maynot work properly.

* Reboot if necessary. If all else fails, rebooting yourmachine can often clear any conflicts in the system.
