You will need to take 36 credits of General Education classes. On your DARS you will be able to see the list of classes to choose from. There are 3

different categories of General Education, and they each follow the same rule. In EACH category you will need to take 12 credits (roughly 4 classes) from 3

different departments.

Ethnic Diversity Courses (DV) can be found when you are looking through the Course Catalog. Many DV

classes can be found in the GEN-ED listings and will count for both a DV and GEN-ED. (DV) will always be in

the title of a (DV) class.

There are 3 ways to take care of this requirement.1) Two years of the same language in high school with a grade of C or

better in the second year.

2) Complete a course at the 104(second semester) or above at UW-Parkside. You can take a placement test to try and place out of the first level.

3) Take 2 semesters at another approved university.
