WHAT TIME IS IT? SUMMER TIME! IT’S OUR VACATION! We get out of school this week! Time to sleep in, get painfully sunburnt, wear your sunglasses 24/7, and see your friends more than your family.
Greetings Division 64! We’re in the midst of finals weekend
and I know most of you are going over Quizlet or re-calculating
what you need on your final to still get that grade in a class. (that
awful moment when your calculator tells you you need a 110% on
your final to get an A...) However, we’re almost done! All your hard
work will pay off in the end! Just remember that in a couple days,
you’ll be free from textbooks and lectures!
I can’t explain my excitement for this summer! I’ll be working
(ehhhhhh...) but I’ll also be attending ICON in Orlando, Florida!
This is like DCON, but an International version which means that
I’ll get to meet 1700 other Key Clubbers from around the world!
Going with me from our division are LO Vice-president Victoria
Kong and Immediate Past Lt.G and current District
Communications Director Julia Szeto! Im so excited to bring home
great stories and information to make our division stronger! I
would strongly suggest you guys to attend ICON at least once in
your high school career. Although this will be my first time, I can
already feel the amazing spirit that will greet me in Orlando :)
What are you guys doing this summer? Let me know and keep
in touch so that I can put them in newsletters throughout the
summer!
Most importantly, be safe and have tons of fun. Let loose and
forget about school! Hope you guys have an amazing vacation and
hope to see you at Portland Rally on the 16th!

Portland Rally FAQA lot of people have been asking me what Portland Area Rally is and what it’ll be like. Here are a few Frequently Asked Questions + What you should expect when you come!
What IS Portland Area Rally?
Portland Area Rally is a time to show your spirit for your division, meet you people, and learn about Key Club. However, most importantly, it’s for people to LEARN how to grow their home clubs and make a big difference in their community!
What will I be doing at PAR?
When you first get to LO High School on the 16th, you’ll have to register and pay the fees. Then, everyone will go into the auditorium for an opening session which will consist of divisional roll call (CHEER LOUDLY FOR DIVISION 64!), introductions, speeches, etc. From there, we will go to forums that range all the way from Zumba to Ice breakers to How to Run for Higher Office! Lunch is provided and we’ll have a couple more general sessions. You’ll have a chance to pie your Lt.G in the face if you raise the most money for Miracle Minute and there will be a limbo contest! A lot of people describe DCON and PAR as a giant party.. and it is!
What will I need to bring?
Bring a small, light backpack to store papers and pens. Bring a notebook and a writing utensil for certain forums! If you’re planning on doing Zumba, bring comfy shoes! Dress up for the Luau theme with whatever you can think of! Also, do not forget to bring your medical release form (we cannot let you enter without it) and check with your club president that you have a chaperone!
Who can come to PAR?
ANYONE! Whether you’ve been in Key Club and have now graduated, are currently in Key Club, or have just heard about it from your friends, then come! It’ll really show you how fun KC can be!
How do you register and why can’t I pay online?
You can register at www.pnwportlandrally.eventbrite.com! The regular registration has already passed, but you can register late! The fees are a bit confusing, but what will happen is you will register online (It’s almost like an official RSVP) and you’ll pay at the door. If you do late registration, you’ll have to pay more than the people who RSVP’d with regular admission. However, better late than never because paying at the door will be more than late admission.

Key Leader is from Oct. 5-7 at Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp..... Will you be there?
Key Leader is a weekend experiential leadership
program for today's young leaders. This life-changing
event focuses on service leadership as the first, most
meaningful leadership-development experience. A Key
Leader will learn the most important lesson of
leadership—it comes from helping others succeed.
Participants begin by attending a Key Leader
conference, which is a weekend retreat. Large and small
group workshops, discussions and team-building
activities take place over the course of the weekend.
Students have opportunities to learn leadership skills
that will help them to change their schools,
communities, and world for the better. While exploring
leadership in a whole new way, participants will make
amazing new friends and have experiences they will
never forget. Positive, ongoing interaction with other
Key Leader graduates offers continuing reinforcement,
encouragement and growth of leadership skills.
On the left is the “What is Key Leader?” explanation on
the Key Leader website. It’s basically a conference where
other Key Clubbers from around your area meet to
learn leadership skills, meet new friends, and continue
to build their home clubs.
I’ve only heard amazing things from people I know that
have attended Key Leader. The activities are worthwhile
and fun, the food is great, and you get a lot of time to
bond with other people that live or go to school near
you.
I encourage as many people to go to Key Leader as
possible this year. Prices and transportation can be
discussed at future DCMs, but if you are at all
interested in attending with me and several other
Division 64 Key Clubbers, let me know! Also, check out
the website at www.key-leader.org.

Nametags
Nametags are STILL on backorder (nooooooo) I’m praying that Kiwanis will understand the urgency and ship them to us by the Induction Dinner, but if not, they’ll get here soon. It’ll all be worth the wait though when you get the shiny, official nametags!
