D7 Battle Cruiser EnteredService:2251Overview:TheD7-classwasthenextstepinKlingonbattlecruiserdesign,itsformbeingadevelopmentoftheearlierD4class.Thefirstprototypesenteredserviceasearlyas2151andbythemid23rdcenturytheclasshadbecomethemainstayofthefleet.FollowingtheformationofaKlingon-Romulanallianceinthe2260s,manyD7senteredserviceintheRomulanStarEmpireasStormbird-classcruisers.TheK't'inga-classbattlecruiserbegantoreplacetheD7classduringthe24thcenturyandtheD7wasfinally"retired”decadespriortothe2370salthoughmanyremainedinservicewhereneeded.Capabilities:TheD7classwasalmostpredatoryinitsappearance,withaspread-wingprimaryhull,longneckandhead-likecommandpod.Thebridgewaslocatedonthebulboushead,whichwasseparatedfromtheaftsectionbyarelativelythinneckthatflaredoutintothewings.Juttingfrombelowthesewingswereapairofoutboardwarpnacellesandback-mountedimpulseengines.Duringthemid-23rdcentury,theD7classposedasignificantthreattotheFederationwiththeclassesimpressivearmamentconsistingoftwonacelle-mounteddisruptorcannons,aforward-mountedphaseremitter,andaforwardlaunchercapableoffiringphotontorpedoes,magneticpulsesanddisruptorblasts.

Capabilities:Qang-classvesselsareequippedwithtwelvedisruptors,capableofthreehundredsixtydegreefire,andindependentlycontrolledbyagunner.Halfofthesesystemsaretop-mounted,withtheotherhalfbeingbottom-mounted.Allofthedisruptorsaresetforavariablemodulationeverytentotwelveseconds,designedasanti-Borgmeasures.Thesedisruptorsareaugmentedbyaprimaryforwardfacingdisruptorcannonintheforeofthevessel.Advanceddeflectoremitterscreateanenergeticdefensiveshieldaroundthevessel;theseemittersarelocatedinvariouslocationsaroundthevesselandprovideoverlappingcoverage,protectingthehullfromcollisionsandattacks.Incaseoftotalshieldfailure,thevessel'shullisreinforcedwithadditionalplatingtoallowforgreatersurvivability.

High Yield Torpedo Launcher Requirements:Security3+WhileKlingonstarshipsrarelyhavequantumtorpedoes,theyoftenhavehigh-yieldlaunchersthatcanfiremultipletorpedoesatonce.WhentheshipfiresaFullSpreadoftorpedoes(seeStarTrekAdventuresp.231)itscrewaddsanextradamagedieandtheSpreadqualitywithoutincreasingThreat.
Isometric Charge Array Requirement:Security2+,Engineering2+Theship’sdeflectordishhasbeenmodifiedtoreleaseachargedisometricwhichcancrippleenemyvessels.ThisarraycanbeusedwithaPowerManagementTaskfromtheInternalSystemsStationbutifthisisusedinthesameroundastheFireWeaponTaskthentheDifficultyofbothisincreasedbyone.AnisometricchargemustbeusedatCloseRangeandfollowsallthesamerulesasanormalstarshipattackexceptthatitdealsnodamage.Instead,thesystemaffectedbytheisometriccharge(fromtheSystemHitTableonpage226)isionizedandbecomesaffectedasifitweresufferinganadditionalBreach(seepages227-231)for1round.
Raiding Tactics Theship’sweaponsystemsareparticularlywell-equippedtocrippleenemyvesselsandallowboardingpartiestotransportoverandengagetheenemy.Warriorspreferthissortofface-to-facefightingasamorehonorableandgloriousmeansofvictory.WhenanenemyshipsuffersaBreachfromanattackbythisship(seeStarTrekAdventuresp.227)theDifficultyofusingtheRegenerateShieldsTask(page224)isincreasedby1.Additionally,afterasceneofstarshipcombattheplayercharacterswillnotloseanyMomentumifthenextsceneisaboardingpartyattack.Infact,theboardingpartywillbeginthatcombatscenewithafreeAdvantageasiftheyspentMomentumattheverystartofthescene.
