Parent/Child Dedication
Sunday, May 5 During the Morning Worship Service This is a special opportunity for our parents of young children to make a commit-ment to God before the church to raise their child/children in accordance with God’s Word. It also gives the church an oppor-tunity to pray for those parents and children.
Sunday, May 12 is Mother’s Day We will honor our mothers for the important role they have played in all of our lives. There will be no evening worship service that day.
Sunday, May 19 is Senior Recognition Day
We will give special recognition to our graduating high school and college seniors. The day will begin with a breakfast for the high school seniors and their parents at 9:00 a.m. in The Warehouse on the 2nd floor. Then they will be honored during the morning worship service. Recent college graduates will also be recognized during that service.
Sunday, May 26: Memorial Day Weekend We will honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our
nation across the years. No evening worship service that day.

th. This year’s theme is “In the
Wild – Amazing Encounters with Jesus”. The verse for the week is John 20:31, which
says, “… But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and
that by believing, you may have life in His name.” VBS is always a ‘wild’ time and every encounter with Jesus is
truly amazing. It is an opportunity to spend an entire week sharing the love of Jesus with a future generation in hopes they
will encounter Jesus Christ. During VBS, the church facilities are filled with the laughter and liveliness of children who need to know our loving and faithful God. I hope you will find a way to get involved in Vacation Bible School.
Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always to the end of the age.” The “Great Commission” of Jesus is our mission at Den-man Avenue Baptist Church. The Summer calendar is full of opportunities to carry out the Great Commission: VBS, mission trips, church camps, etc. And, we all have the opportunity to build relationships with those around us in order to have gospel conversations in everyday life. This often proves to be the most effective way of carrying out the Great Commission. It is an incredible blessing to have the opportunity to share the life-changing message of Jesus Christ! Let’s do it, church!
Love and blessings,
Pastor Jacob
