Staff IDsEach school should complete the Compass Staff Update Form and return it to the DAC. – If no changes have occurred, keep on-file in the
district. – Otherwise, forward an electronic copy to KDE for
system updates.
KDE:OAA:DSR: pp: 7/17/2015
12
Changing Passwords• All staff should change passwords each school
year.• http://compass.act.org/eCompass
KDE:OAA:DSR: pp: 7/17/2015

Administrator Tests• These tests are designed to assist administrators in
becoming familiar with the online test. These are live items and are not to be shared with anyone or used to prepare for the Compass tests.
• Using Administrator Tests– 11111 and any combination of five numbers– Once the number/name combination is used, keep using the same
combination – NOT for students
KDE:OAA:DSR: pp: 7/17/2015
14
DAC Responsibilities for ACT Compass• Provide oversight and adherence to guidelines• Ensure staff is trained
– Administration Code and Inclusion of Special Populations Regulations Training– Compass On-demand Training Series– Compass Update Training

Infinite Campus Review• Update IC system prior to administration to make
sure each student is assigned to correct grade level
• KDE uses IC to verify graduates• Errors in IC cause greater cleanup problems later
in the year• Be proactive

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Why Compass?• Compass and KYOTE are used to help students
demonstrate college readiness that have not met benchmarks on the ACT.
• Kentucky Public Colleges and Universities use Compass for course placement.
• Meeting the benchmarks will place a student into a credit bearing course.
