“Out of the darkness of my life, so much
frustrated, I put before you the one great
thing to love on earth: the Blessed
Sacrament. There you will find
romance, glory, honour, fidelity, and the
true way of all your loves upon earth.”
-J.R.R. Tolkien
From Director of Music David Jenkins:
It is a privilege to be Music Director of
the Catholic Parishes of the Blue Hills. I
am blessed to work with many talented
musicians in our three parishes. In August, we had a
successful concert commemorating the Eucharistic
Year, and we are now discussing plans to present a
Christmas concert, which we couldn’t have last year,
due to COVID. Presently we are anticipating some
work to be done in the choir loft and with our
magnificent, and historic, organ at Most Precious
Blood. Until that work is completed, we will be using
the piano down front. Please bear with us in the
meantime. I want to thank you parishioners for your
constant support and kind words. It truly means a
great deal to us. Also, thanks to our musicians for
their dedication, and to Frs. Joe and Charles for their
wonderful support as well.

* Indicates Months Mind
October 31 ~ Thirty First Sunday in
Ordinary Time: The lesson in today’s
readings is clear. Moses tells the people they are
to “Love God with all your heart, soul and
strength.” Jesus repeats those words and adds to
it, “love your neighbor as yourself.” The first part
of the commandment is easier than the second
part. As disciples, we need to take the entire
commandment to heart, the part that seems easy
as well as the part that is difficult. Let your words
and actions this week show your love not only for
God but also for your neighbor.
Thank you Mike!
On behalf of the Catholic Parishes of the
Blue Hills we would like to THANK Mike

thoughts and prayers are with Mike and his family.

OCTOBER BOOK OF THE MONTH:
I’M NOT OK. YOU’RE NOT OK. BUT IT’S OK
“This book is an encouragement to all who have felt judged and re-
jected. It is a book that offers hope. I am confident you will laugh a lot
and breath a sigh of relief in knowing that while you are not perfect,
you are in good company, because the rest of us aren’t OK either.”
Chris Padge&
AUTHOR: Chris Padgett: For over a decade I have been doing min-
istry around the country. I entered the Roman Catholic Church, which
has been one of the most amazing adventures of my life. Many stere-
otypes and preconceived notions had to be modified for me to make
such a transition, but the longer I searched, the more convinced I
became. In January of 2006, I took a comprehensive exam and
graduated with my M.A in theology from Franciscan University. I am
entrusting this ministry to Mary’s intercession.
Week #4 - Chapters 9, and 10, and Conclusion
• “Christ in Us” and “The Cross”
• If Christ is in you and he loves the whole world, how can you look
at those you encounter differently?
• Is there someone you can offer forgiveness to today? Is it possi-
ble that someone you know is waiting for a healing word from
you for a previous offense? What will you do?
• How can the Old Testament stories about Abraham and Isaac,
and Moses and Israel be examples of the type of love Jesus has
demonstrated for us?
• Why do we emphasize the crucifix so much in our spiritual devel-
opment?
• What are you going to do now?
PRAYER: Dearest Jesus, You are the Just judge, Holy and True.
You are the Most High God. You give us life. You hold all power in
your hands. You are the Mighty one from God who carries the world,
and is ruler over all the earth. You Oh Most Blessed One are the giv-
er of life. In you are only good things. In you is mercy and love. Help
us put our trust in You. You heal, You protect, You care, You love,
You are kind, You are patient, You are thoughtful, You are strength.
You Lord are our Creator. You know our thoughts, our sighing and
our crying and every hair on our head. You are Wonderful and
make all good things for us. Heal us Lord, if it be Your will. Amen
