Thrivent Financial Supports Outdoor MinistriesHow many clicks does it take to pitch a tent, navigate a river or

hike up a mountain? A new Facebook campaign launched by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans hopes to find out what 10,000 can do. The “Camp Challenge” will give new fans the chance to enrich the lives of others through support of Lutheran outdoor ministries.

Now through August 31, for every new fan of the Thrivent Financial Facebook page, Thrivent Financial will contribute $1 up to $10,000 to Lutheran outdoor ministries. Dollars raised will help enrich a camp-goer’s experience by providing opportunities to deepen their faith, build relationships and enjoy the outdoors.

Individuals can participate in the campaign by going to Thrivent.com/facebook and clicking on the Like button. A new tab on the Thrivent Financial Facebook page highlights the campaign details and gives fans quick tools to spread the word through Facebook, Twitter and email.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans introduced its Facebook page in spring of 2009 with the goal of creating a vibrant online community. Fans of the site have already played a key role in other charitable activities, such as helping raise more than $3 million for Haiti relief efforts and raising $10,000 for Lutheran World Relief in a similar campaign last year.

Save the Date!High School youth (grades 9-12) are encouraged to attend the

Youth Gathering in LaVista, NE on November 18-20, 2011.  More information is available at www.neyouth.org or from Pastor and Katy Gifford.  Plan to attend this event with and meet youth from Nebraska, South Dakota, and western Iowa.
