Using a medium lineweight ( I use Micron Size 03) , draw 3 imperfect circles .

Fi l l in your circles with tiny detail circles , more dense towards the edges of each circle.

Add petals around the edge of the center . Keep them imperfect , around their edges, but roughly the same LENGTH.

Add a second row of petals overlapping behind the first row.

Using a thinner l ineweight ( I use Micron Size 01) , begin adding detail l ines.Always use CURVED l ines, not straight l ines.Point your detail l ines towards the CENTER of the flower.

Using a thicker l ineweight ( I use Micron Size 05) , go over the petals and add shading where the petals overlap for contrast .

Voilà! A daisy!

Using a medium lineweight ( I use Micron Size 03) , draw 3 imperfect long & narrow ovals .

Fi l l in your circles with tiny detail circles , more dense towards the edges of each circle.

4

Add petals around the edge of the center . Keep them imperfect . Petals on top should be longer, petals on the bottom should be shorter .

Optional : first , draw an oval with a pencil (as seen in red here!)

Add a second row of petals overlapping behind the first row. Then add your stem.

Using a medium lineweight ( I use Micron Size 03) , draw two imperfect center circles .

Fi l l in your circles with tiny detail circles , more dense towards the edges of each circle.

4

Add petals around the edge of the center . Keep them imperfect , around their edges, but roughly the same LENGTH to form another imperfect circle.

Continue adding more rows of overlapping petals , unti l you’re happy with the size of your flower. Remember, your circle should be IMPERFECT.

Using a medium lineweight ( I use Micron Size 03) , draw an imperfect circle and fill it in with smaller imperfect circles .

Add dif ferent lengths of sl ightly curved l ines upwards with an oval on the end of each one. (See YouTube video for details on this ! )

Add 5 imperfect petals around the outside of your flower.

Continue adding overlapping petals around your original 5, in varying shapes and sizes.

Add your larger back petal on top, keeping it imperfect !

Continue adding imperfect petals around the outside of your flower.

Voilà! A side-view anemone!

Add a simple stem (2 l ines) from the bottom of the flower. Try not to make these l ines perfectly straight.

5 Using a thinner l ineweight ( I use Micron Size 01) , begin adding detail l ines.Always use sl ightly CURVED l ines, not straight l ines.Point your detail l ines towards the CENTER of the flower.

Using a medium lineweight ( I use Micron Size 03) , begin drawing the imperfect center petals .

Complete the center by adding a top petal , two small folds inside, and darketing the middle.

4

Add two side petals with folds.

Add three more petals on the upper side.

5 Start adding petals on the bottom edge.

Continue adding petals around the edges, overlappnig with the existing ones.

Add more petals around the edges unti l you are happy with the size. Remember- you want it to be rounded, but not a perfect circle!

8Using a thinner l ineweight ( I use Micron Size 01) , begin adding detail l ines.Always use CURVED l ines, not straight l ines.Point your detail l ines towards the CENTER of the flower.

Using a medium lineweight ( I use Micron Size 03) , draw a “bean-shape” for the center . Don’t worry about making this perfect !

Add petals on either side, rounding towards the top. Don’t make them perfectly symmetrical .

Add a petal on the top to round out the center , and add in some smaller petals on the inside.

Add top and bottom petals starting to fold out, then add your side petals with folds.

Continue adding petals around the sides, incorporating folds where appropriate.

Using a thinner l ineweight ( I use Micron Size 01) , begin adding detail l ines.Always use CURVED l ines, not straight l ines.Point your detail l ines towards the CENTER of the flower.Leave the outside of the folds empty.

Using a thicker l ineweight ( I use Micron Size 05) , go over the petals and add shading where the petals overlap for contrast .

Voilà! A peony!

3 Add contrast and shading l ines in the same way you did for the open peony!

Repeat steps 1-3 from the open peony to draw your center .

Add a simple stem and leaves.

Using a light to medium lineweight (I use Micron size 0.1), outline the middle circles with a more jagged and imperfect line.

Using a pencil, draw four circles. These can be imperfect!

Using a light to medium lineweight, draw petals from the outer-middle circle to the outermost circle. Start with some full petals spread around the outside, then add filler petals in behind.

Using a medium lineweight (I use Micron size 0.3), draw some tiny and imperfect circles to fill out the middle layers. The one in the middle should have slightly larger/less dense circles, making it appear a little bit lighter than the other two.

Page 19: DAISY (TOP)

5

6

7

Using a light lineweight (I use Micron size 0.1), draw detail lines on the petals. These should be curved lines extending from the center to the top of each petal– varying in lengths and curve shapes. In this step you can also (optionally) add some more detail lines around the inner circle.

Add some contrast to the middle sections by filling in some space between the tiny circles. I do this by simply scribbling some haphazard lines on top (see video!).

Lastly, using a heavy lineweight (I use Micron 0.5), add contrast. Contour each petal to be darker, as well as colour in some of the inner overlapping petals that meet at the center.

Erase your pencil lines.

And voila! You have a sunflower.

Using a pencil , start with an imper-fect large circle and a smaller circle in the middle. Remember, these don’t have to be super even! Nothing in nature is !

Using a Micron 0.3 , add in the three rear petals .

Using a Micron 0.3 , draw in the three f ront petals– again, keep those edges uneven!

5

Using a Micron 0.3 , draw in the stamen coming out f rom the center. I suggest doing an uneven number of these (5 is my preference!)

Using a Micron 0.5 , add contrast by outl ining the petals once more, and adding darker shading where the petals overlap at the center of the flower.

Voila! You have a l i ly!

6

Erase your pencil l ines.

Using a Micron 0.1 , add in detai l /shading l ines on al l of the petals . Make the shading l ines closer together as you approach the center.
