Past Students - Where are they now?

What are you up to?
As of right now, I'm in Kathmandu, Nepal but in 1 day I'll be in Jakarta, Indonesia and the day after I'll be in Makassar, Indonesia! How did my life get to be so crazy? I just finished a 7 week stint travelling around 3 districts of Nepal (including Solukhumbu, the district of Mount Everest!) sharing the gospel with people who have never heard and encouraging those who have and believe. The next stint is 4 weeks in the Indonesian city of Makassar which has a very high percentage of Muslims.
What led you to your current situation (God, TAFE, Uni, other opportunities)?
Partly my parents and God haha. I/they enrolled in a YWAM (youth with a mission) DTS (discipleship training school) where for 3 months I learnt so many things about God and how he loves me so much (and you) and how he has a plan for my life. Learning about what I did really changed my life and brought so much hope and passion. The beginning of the second 3 months resulted in me getting flown out to Nepal for 7 weeks.
What is your biggest piece of advice for Dale students as they leave school?
1) Take a gap year or a 6 month break after and do a YWAM DTS. Not only will it change your life, you'll be able to experience the power of God!
2) No matter what happens during school, if you get bad grades or good ones, don't let it shape your life. God has a plan for you and if you want the most out of life, seek him whole heartedly and he will hear you. That's not to say don't try though, always try to do your best.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Mr Drent always encouraged and inspired me to push myself to achieve goals and set records.
Mr Van always inspired me really seek knowledge in the Bible and he also liked to laugh with us.
Mrs Wheatley grew my passion for reading and encouraged me to use my imagination.
Mrs Rama developed my competitiveness and my sweet tooth with all the prizes she gave out.
Mrs Parry taught me the importance of originality and making things my own.
Mrs Smedley helped develop my problem-solving skills but also really taught when it's time to have a laugh and when it's time to buckle down.
Mrs Robinson always encouraged to go after what I wanted and really just encouraged me in general.
Mr Coffey taught me how to have an open mind and to question things we don't know about, also when to take instruction.
Miss Goss taught me how to express myself and what I enjoy through drama and through English.
Mr Brown loved to joke around but I also enjoyed talking about serious things with him such as religion or ethics or physics and chemistry.
Miss Pearce really pushed me to put forward my best.
