PRINCIPAL NEWS

This year seems to have flown by, with term 4 already here.

We have a very busy term ahead with many exciting events planned.

The selection process for the new Principal has been completed and announced.

The successful applicant is Mr Alex Cameron, Mr Cameron comes to us from Hale boys school in Perth. He is unable to commence his role at Dalyellup Primary School until 2020. I will remain as principal until then.

Mr Cameron has a wealth of experience in a range of educational settings, he will bring some fresh new ideas to our school. Mr Cameron is aiming to attend our ‘Thank You Morning Tea’ and Open Board Meeting on Wednesday the 13th of November. This will be a great opportunity for him to meet members of the Dalyellup Primary School community.

I am sure you all join me in welcoming Mr Cameron to our amazing school community!

Today is the Junior Faction Athletics Carnival. This event is a tabloid style with all students participating in a variety of events with the emphasis on participation. Mrs Lawrence has lead our junior primary teachers in preparing their students for this event.

Next Friday we will hold our Senior Faction Athletics Carnival. Mr Nicholson and the senior teachers have been busy preparing for the day. Mr Nicholson spent a great deal of time and effort late last term teaching and judging the Jumps and Throwing events.

We look forward to seeing as many parents as are able cheer their children on.

Wednesday 30th November we will officially farewell Mr Quinn, the afternoon will commence with an assembly at 2pm, all parents are welcome to attend.

The PBS focus for this term is Safety, we held a special assembly yesterday afternoon to teach the students the importance of wearing a broad brimmed hat during the day. Your children may have come home yesterday talking about the teachers misbehaving. Some of our staff starred in a movie demonstrating NO examples of wearing or not wearing hats at school. The movie caused much laugher and discussion amongst the students.

I look forward to seeing you at the Dalyellup Colour Run on Sunday.

When going into a crowded or unfamiliar place, have an emergency plan in case your child becomes separated or lost. Talk about who

would be the best adult to speak to when needing assistance; a police officer, security guard, a lady with a pram, a shopkeeper.
