O U R S T O R Y

Dana & Radika went from designing eclectic jewelry for the runways of New York City to creating unique engagement rings for couples around the world.

Here is their story...

Dana quits his job at Goldman Sachs to work for a gem dealer in NYC’s Diamond District.

He is fascinated by the artful balance of gems and metal. Dana dedicates the next year to becoming a self-taught bench jeweler. 2003

Radika works as a fashion stylist at Henri Bendel in NYC. The iconic boutique is known for their unqiue sampling of avant-garde designers.

Her clients include Naomi Campbell, Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson.

Dana hones his craft by designing jewelry for friends and family. One of his pieces catches the eye of fashion designer and friend, Doori Chung.

2004

Dana is invited to collaborate with Chung on a collection of jewelry for her SS2005 collection during NY Fashion Week.

Dana and Radika travel to Barcelona in the summer of 2005. They have yet to meet, but they each share a passion for the organic and avant-garde.

This trip plays a central role in the development of Dana’s signature aesthetic, which merges nature and sculpture into one.

2005

Dana’s unique aesthetic generates industry buzz and his jewelry is featured in W Magazine’s Jewelry Issue.

He is also commisioned to create his first engagement ring, called “Violette”.

2006

Radika takes her impressive client list and love for fashion to the Upper East Side.

She works as a personal shopper and specializes in wardrobe and accessories consulting.

Dana launches a collection of fine jewelry called “ISIS”, named for the Egyptian goddess of nature & magic. The line is carried by esteemed jewelry retailer, Fragments, located in SoHo.

Serendipitously, Radika begins working for Fragments that very same year.

2007

Dana & Radika meet for the first time. Their mutual passion for art & fashion culminates with Radika working as his design consultant.

Their professional relationship takes a romantic turn as they begin to lay the groundwork for a flourishing 2009. Their plans include launching separate collections of fashion and bridal jewelry.

2008

“Jewelry maker... Dana Walden Chin kicked off fashion week by collaborating with Geren Ford... For Fall, the pieces are big, bold and glittering with statement making rough stones ...”

2009

Dana & Radika create a collection of jewelry for fashion designer, Geren Ford. The line is presented during NY Fashion Week and is picked up by luxury retailer, Bergdorf Goodman.

2009

Beyonce Knowles becomes their first celebrity client. Dana’s baubles are also seen on Rachel Ray, Debra Messing, and Keri Hilson.

2009

Dana’s fashion line is featured in a number of publications including Harpers Bazaar.

Meanwhile, his new bridal collection is fast becoming a favorite among creative New Yorkers.

Radika is officially named the “Curator” of Dana’s company. He jokingly calles her the “Aesthetic Police” as she begins to co-design and refine their collections.

2010

The duo is commissioned by Audi to create jewelry for their new commercial, starring Justin Timberlake.

Dana & Radika design two collections for New York Fashion week. Dana personally makes 300 pieces of jewelry for the runway shows.

Dana & Radika tie the knot.

She wears the Violette engagement ring and the Constance wedding ring from their bridal collection.

When asked about his unique Loving Day wedding rings - inscribed with the case ID # that legalized interracial marriage - Dana says:

2012

As word spreads, Dana & Radika are commisioned to design artful engagement rings and conceptual jewelry for clients the world over. Dana Walden Jewelry is born.
