Flipping Over Gymnastics

The Ridgewood High School Gymnastics team has big

hopes for this season, especially when it comes to

their freshmen team. This past Tuesday the Maroons

Gymnastics team defeated Holy Angels 107.25-102.3.

The win improves RHS’ record to 3-0 and brings them to

the top spot in ranking in North Jersey.

Freshman Katherine Muccio scored 36.05 all-around

to help the team win, an impressive score by any

standard. Victoria Purritano competed all-around and

scored a 35.5. She also scored 9.4 on the floor and

tied the number one score in North Jersey. Senior Ker-

ry Callaghan scored an 8.65 on the beam and floor,

and sophomore Nicole Lester scored 8.75 on the vault

and a 8.65 on the floor.

On Thursday, October 8, the girls will face their

biggest challenge so far against four-time North 1

champions Ramapo. The meet will begin at 4:30 pm at

Ridgewood High School. Congratulations to the girls

on all their success so far, and make sure you get out

there and support all the Ridgewood teams.

RHS POLICY CORNER: Emergency School Closings

The district uses an all call system that will call your home with a

recorded message advising about school closings or delayed open-

ings. The Emergency Closing message is also available at 201-670-

2700 and will remain in effect throughout the day.

Please do not call the Police or Fire Departments or the individual

schools for information on the closing of schools, since those tele-

phones will not have a taped message. School personnel do not re-

port when school is closed.

Information about an emergency school closing or delayed opening

can also be found at the following sources:

A Window Into Ridgewood High School RHS Alumni Association

This week the Ridgewood High School Alumni Association

launched its new website: www.RHSAlumniAssociation.org.

If you are a past student of Ridgewod High School, the

association would ask that you please take a moment to look

over the website. It is designed to help connect Ridgewood grad-

uates, highlight current alumni, and support the future efforts of

the alumni community.

They also ask that you do not forget to register so you can be a

part of our next steps. The Alumni Association was formed to

celebrate and promote the collective experiences unique to the

RHS and strengthen a Tradition of Excellence.
