WELCOME
The Dance-Along Nutcracker is our
gift to each other. With audience
Dance-Along sprinkled throughout
the show, a waltz lesson for those who
are comfortable with a more
structured invitation to the dance
Aoor, and sparkling tiaras, wands and
bow ties to accessorize your costume,
everyone can join the show.
This year, we feature different styles
of dance to inspire your Dance-Along
creations: ballet, ballroom and more
performed by Ken Ludden, a.k.a.
Dear Miss Diva , Allen Habel and
members of Dance Through Time.
We're excited to present cabaret
singer Gail Wilson in special holiday
arrangements. The rendition of Santa
Baby you'll hear tonight was arranged
for her by Wayne Love to perform at
the first Dance-Along Nutcracker
thirteen years ago. Jose Sarria, a.k.a.
the Widow Norton, presents one of
his most memorable, or notorious ,
roles from his days at the Black Cat.
Even with changes and surprises each
year, the basic Dance-Along
experience remains the same. It is a
reminder that art is essential to
community life. The show gives us a
taste of what it is to be a performer .
Regardless of specific content or
technique, we can be certain that
what comes across to the audience is
how we feel about what we are doing.
Art is a way to discover what is
authentic . That seems to me a good
gift indeed.
Happy Holidays ,
Jadine Louie
