We would like to welcome everyone to Dandy Acres Angus 50th Anniversary ‘Collector’s Edition’ Sale. It hardly seems possible 50 years have gone by since I purchased my first Angus heifers. A lot has changed since then . . . partners, economics, farm dynamics and my own family, but the Angus breed has been the common thread through it all.

Looking back, I would like to recognize and thank my early mentors Marlin Berg and Paul Kraph, as well as the late Glen Eikmeier. They offered help and advice to a young farm boy and got him started on the right track. Let this sale remind us all that the kids we help today will be the cattlemen of the future.

The history of our herd is on the bottom side of our pedigrees. You will see the ‘Dandy Acres’ prefix after 1975 as my brother, Roger, and I were the original Dandy Acres partners. Soon it became a family project, with our three kids all pitching in to develop the herd. Today it is my son, Neil, and I that represent Dandy Acres. Before 1975, the prefix was ‘GG’ when my father, Goodwin, and I were partners and prior to that just ‘G’ for Gregg.

I was a kid the first time I proudly showed my brother-in-law the start of my small herd. He told me that my children would benefit more from the cattle than I would and went on to say that it takes a generation to build a good herd. Turns out he was right! With the genetic information available today the changes the next generation will see will be even more significant. These cattle showcase five decades of progress bred with emphasis on balanced trait selection and sound genetic princi-ples. As you study our offering and contemplate purchases at our ‘Collec-tor’s Edition’ sale, I have every confidence your selections will positively contribute to the genetic base of your own herd.

The females in this offering were hand picked to showcase our hard work over the last 50 years. We can easily sell commodity cattle down the road at the sale barn, so we set out to make this set of females special. The bred females in this offering were mated as though they were are own, to sires that will best enhance there genetic merit. The same can be said for the heifer calves as they are truly special.

:: Sale Terms & ConditionsTerms - Terms of the sale are cash or check payable during or after the sale and before cattle will be released. Cattle will not be transferred until paid in full. Each animal will be at the buyer’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. They will be fed and cared for a reasonable length of time following the sale at the buyer’s risk.

Guarantee - All cattle sell under the suggested terms and conditions of the American Angus Association.

Absentee Bidding - If you would like to place a bid but are unable to attend the sale, please direct your bid to any of the owners or sale staff. You may also bid online as the sale will be broadcast live on the Internet at www.conoveronlinesales.com. Herd Health - All cattle will be sold in compliance with the health laws of the State of Minnesota. Health papers will be provided for immediate shipment. All bred females have been confirmed pregnant.

Load Out & Trucking - Load out will be available during the sale provided buyers have settled with clerk. Livestock haulers will be available for hire sale day. We will be happy to assist you in making the most economical delivery arrangements for your purchases.

Insurance - We strongly recommend purchasing insurance for any animals held at Dandy Acres Angus following the sale. Insurance will be available sale day through Conover Auction Service, an American Livestock agent.

Registration & Transfer - Registration certificates will be trans-ferred to the buyer at the seller’s expense. Each buyer must be sure to give the clerk the proper name and address for making transfers. All calves born after the sale are to be registered by the buyer. Any female that is mated to a sire that is not owned by the seller will not have an AI certificate provided.

EPDs - EPDs listed in the catalog are the most current available at time of catalog printing.

Air Travel - Sioux Falls Regional Airport is served by several major airlines and is approximately 45 minutes from the farm. Rental cars are available in Sioux Falls. The Brookings Regional Airport is located approximately 1 hour from the farm and offers limited commercial flights. The Pipestone Municipal Airport is located just one mile from the farm, with transportation to the sale provided.
