Daniel 4: Birds nesting in a tree1King Nebuchadnezzar, 5had a dream that made [him] afraid. [Daniel said to the king] 20The tree you saw, which grew large

and strong, with its top touching the sky, visible to the whole earth, 21with beautiful leaves and abundant fruit, providing food for all, giving shelter to the beasts of the field, and having nesting places in its branches for the birds of the air--

22you, O king, are that tree! You have become great and strong; your greatness has grown until it reaches the sky, and your dominion extends to distant parts of the earth.

Yeast44 mentions of Yeast in Old Testament – All “Get Rid of it”Bread without Yeast = Bread of affliction = Slavery

= Bread of redemption (left without time to let dough rise)Yeast “puffs up” bread and is a symbol of pride"Be careful," Jesus said to them. "Be on your guard against

the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.“ (Matt 16:6)Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast

works through the whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast-- as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. (1 Corinthians 5:6-7)

Matthew 13 31He told them another parable:

"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.

32Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches."

33He told them still another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough."

34Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable.

35So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet: "I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world."

The kingdom of Heaven is like ..

the cowpox virus (vaccinia), which Edward Jenner injected into human beings in 1796 and, after 200 years, completely removed from nature the killer disease of small pox.

Oncolytic virus: a virus that targets cancerous cells.Viruses hijack cell machinery (proteins) in order to

reproduce. They do so because first of all, they are very small and they can't possibly package all the proteins they need into their tiny shell. Also, by using the cell's proteins instead of viral ones they disguise themselves: less viral proteins means more chances to evade the host immune system. When successful, most viruses end up killing their host cell.

What if we could do the opposite? What if we could hijack the viral proteins, instead, and use their "killing" machinery to ... kill cancer cells? That's the brilliant idea Dr. Matthias Gromeier, from Duke University had, and the basis of his research on oncolytic viral immunotherapy.

The Hidden power of the KingdomGandhi: Doesn't the New Testament say, "If your

enemy strikes you on the right cheek, offer him the left"?

Vicar: I think perhaps the phrase was used metaphorically . . . I don't think our Lord meant –

Gandhi: I'm not so certain. I have thought about it a great deal. I suspect he meant you must show courage – be willing to take a blow – several blows – to show you will not strike back – nor will you be turned aside . . . And when you do that it calls upon something in human nature – something that makes his hate for you diminish and his respect increase. I think Christ grasped that and I – I have seen it work.

Martin Luther KingNow is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's

childrenBut there is something that I must say to my people who

stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice. In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.

We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force

Hope!I say to you today, that even though we face the difficulties of today and

tomorrow, I still have a dream. I have a dream that our children will one day will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

This is our hope. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

And when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every county and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, Muslims and Christians, Rich and Poor, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"
