Daniel BooneIn 1734, Daniel Boone was born in Pennsylvania.

He grew up on a farm but he liked hunting better.

Daniel Boone wore animal skins and shined his hair with bear grease.

Daniel Boone got his first gun at age 12.

He spent a lot of time hunting with it.

At age 19 or 20, Daniel Boone joined the USA army in the French & Indian War.

Wilderness Road• Some settlers went

south and west along the trail called the Great Wagon Road. This was also known as the Wilderness Road. It went through Cumberland Gap into Kentucky.

Daniel Boone went back to work on his father’s farm after the French & Indian War ended.

He married the neighbor’s daughter, Rebecca Bryan.

On May 1, 1769, Daniel Boone left his wife at home to go exploring with John, and 4 other men.

In 1774, Daniel Boone built a log cabin in Kentucky.

Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisiana Purchase from Napoleon of France. This doubled the size of the United States.

Lewis & Clark took a Shoshoni, Sacajawea with them and their slave, York.

Meriwether Lewis Born: Aug. 18,

1774 His death is a

mystery, no one knows what happened.
