SUBCONTRACTOR DISCIPLINE: Heritage Building Conservation
The heritage conservation scope for this project will have the longest construction timeline and require the most coordination of contract requirements. This specialized work includes the heritage conservation work, maintaining building protection, ensuring that the cataloging/storage of salvaged items is properly executed, the timely provision of all required submittals for the heritage scope, and coordination with the New Construction scope. Furthermore, the heritage scope, the retention scope, and demolition scopes for 698~700 Spadina Ave are to be under one contract having oversight from the lead contractor responsible for ensuring the protection of the heritage fabric that is to be retained.
Standard heritage contractor qualification requirement:
Have at least 10 years’ experience managing heritage building conservation work.
Can provide a list of 5 heritage projects completed within recent years.
Can provide project examples involving heritage conservation work on buildings of a similar age, type of construction and level of complexity to 698 Spadina Ave.
