Please accept this letter of recommendation on behalf of Mr. Daniel Santiago. I have had the great pleasure of knowing and

supervising Daniel since January of 2014. During the time I have known him, he has proven himself to be the highest quality

employee and person. At all times, he is enthusiastic, thoughtful, intelligent, and focused on his future.

Mr. Santiago began working for me at the Pohl Recreation Center as an ID checker. This position requires workers to greet hundreds

of patrons as they enter the facility daily, while ensuring that only eligible participants were allowed in. Daniel’s good nature and

humor allowed him to excel at this. He was quickly embraced by the patrons and his co-workers. Daniel also worked various other

positions in my program area (equipment checkout, gym supervisor, etc.) where he exhibited outstanding customer service.

Daniel was an easy choice to promote to our Member Services position. In this area, he was responsible for sales of up to $5,000 in a

shift. This is also the customer service desk that fields phone calls and questions about anything and everything Rec Sports related

(and quite often, questions about the University in general). Daniel’s exemplary attitude shined while working this area.

Daniel earned his way into our Staff Coordinator position. In this role he was in charge of opening and closing a 116,000 square foot

facility. This position also required Daniel to be a shift manager over his peers, and be in charge and control of all patrons in the

facility - a number that exceeds 2,500 on a daily basis. Very few of our staff earn their way into this position, but Daniel was an

unquestionable selection for it.

During his time here, Mr. Santiago received numerous Superior Performance write-ups, which are given to employees in our

department going above and beyond the scope of their duties. Daniel was also recognized as the Employee of the Month. Daniel

never received a negative work performance evaluation from us. His work was not only noticed by his direct supervisors and peers,

but also amongst the entire university community.

Mr. Santiago handled all situations with great responsibility, in his usual fashion, and with a sense of humor, poise, and a terrific

attitude. Daniel was able to perform his work duties at the highest level while still maintaining focus on his studies and other

responsibilities. He is not only very teachable and a great learner, but possesses the ability to teach and lead others as well.

I have supervised many students during my career. Daniel Santiago ranks among the absolute best of them. I have been fortunate to

work with him and get to know him as a person. It is for all these reasons that I offer Mr. Daniel Santiago my highest
