Born in Brasov, Romania in 1981, Daria Trifu began her film career in the year 2000, few months after moving to Canada, as a graduate of Bruno Pischiutta’s exclusive Film Acting Courses in Toronto.

Trifu has studied Fine Arts since grade 5 in Europe and she graduated in 2000 with honours from the Central Technical School - Fine Arts Program in Canada. In Romania, she held private exhibitions of her paintings since the early age of 15 and her artwork was commissioned by prestige hotels in the mountain resort of Poiana

Brasov. In her youth, Trifu, a prodigy child, excelled in sports such as tennis and ski when she won numerous competitions; she travelled the world both with her family and on her own with a National Choir attending International Festivals.

Today, Daria is the Vice President and C.O.O. of Toronto Pictures. She is also in charge of Public Relations for the company and she oversees the organisation of Toronto Pictures’ attendance to all major film festivals and markets such as The American Film Market, Cannes, Montreal, etc.

In 2003 she was a speaker on the “Peacefulfish & Variety Presents Global Film Finance” panel in Cannes alongside Barry Poltermann, Claude Fenioux, Jonathan Bing, Christopher R. Auty and Cassian Elwes.

Trifu is the Assistant Director of the feature film MAYBE (2003); Producer & Executive Producer of the half-an-hour documentary BRUNO PISCHIUTTA: FILM DIRECTOR (2009), Executive Producer of the THE COMOEDIA: ENGLISH VERSION (2009); Producer & Executive Producer of the feature film PUNCTURED HOPE (2009) and Producer and Executive Producer of the feature documentary FILMING AFRICA (2010).

In 2003, the film MAYBE was an OFFICIAL SELECTION at the BAHAMAS ONE WORLD FILM FESTIVAL and the film received THE VISIONARY IN FILM AWARD for Director Bruno Pischiutta.

Daria will make her acting debut in the leading role in the feature film WISTERIA (Glicine). The film will be shot in Romania in 2010.

Daria Trifu is the Founder, President and C.E.O. of Adhara Properties since 2003 and Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of “Daria!” Magazine since 2005. She is also the President of the Toronto Pictures Film Academy of Ghana since 2005.

In 2005, Adhara Properties arranged the financing for the feature film PUNCTURED HOPE (35 mm; US $5.8 Mil.). The film raises global awareness regarding West Africa’s long-exercised religious and cultural practice of Trokosi, the enslavement and genital mutilation of young girls and women. PUNCTURED HOPE was an OFFICIAL SELECTION at the WORLD FILM FESTIVAL (Montreal) in 2009. In December 2009, THE POLITICAL FILM SOCIETY (Hollywood) has nominated PUNCTURED HOPE (‘BEST EXPOSE’ and ‘BEST FILM ON HUMAN RIGHTS’ of 2009). The film is qualified (2009) for nomination consideration by the Academy Awards® for 'Best Picture'. PUNCTURED HOPE is currently scheduled for a Toronto Pictures’ commercial theatrical release in 2010 starting in New York City.

Daria is in pre-production with the feature film THE PROJECT (working title). THE PROJECT deals with the the child abuse in the United States and it will be shot in Romania (Europe). The film is based on an original screenplay written by internationally acclaimed Film Director,

Writer and Producer, Bruno Pischiutta. The film will be directed by Pischiutta. He states that THE PROJECT “will constitute a new genre due to the fact that the structure of this new feature will be something that has never been seen before.”

Daria is also working on two other films that have been written and that will be directed by Bruno Pischiutta: WISTERIA -Glicine (US $6.1 M) and THE SEPIA PORTRAIT (US $12 M; filming in China in 2011). Daria will be an Executive Producer and Producer of these films along with Bruno.

Daria Trifu is the role model for the actual generation of Romanian girls. She is one of the youngest and most powerful film executives in the world.
