How the Genre is conveyed

• Glass smashing at start shows elements of action sequences.

• Breaks down straight into action scenes, portraying the genre, with close up shots to draw the audience into the action.

• Fast paced music portrays the action elements of the film.

• The masks represent the use of concealed identity showing wrong doing.

How the characters have been used to portray the genre effectively

• The masks add an element of fear to the film to create a tense opening sequence.

• The close-up's of the characters have been used to develop the audiences' perception of the character.

• The characters have been given guns and are calm during the robbery, adding an element of fear and action.

• The emphasis on sound of the weapons and voices creates a menacing sound to the audience.

How camera shots are used effectively

• Close-ups are used throughout the opening to put emphasis on the villains and to show detail in their plot to make the audience think about the plot.

• Short detailed shots cleverly scripted to show the character’s ruthlessness e.g. when the villain is walking down the corridor of the bank looking calm and collected.

• You can clearly see at the start the institutional data shrouded in darkness, representing the certain element of the genre instantly e.g. Warner bro’s.

• The DC comics logo is showing Batman is part of an iconic superhero genre which would attract a specific audience.
