Dartington Hall is located 1½ miles from Totnes in the heart of South Devon known as the South Hams.

The Dartington Hall Trust is a pioneering charity - working with art-ists, entrepreneurs and activists across the globe to create jobs and better places to live, cultivate sustainable food and farming methods, and enrich lives through the arts. Our Devon estate hosts a stimulat-ing programme of education, performance, festivals and film.

25 miles from Plymouth & 26 miles from Exeter. Three hours by car from both central London and Birmingham with the M5’s link into Devon (the A38) just ten minutes drive away. The nearest railway station is Totnes.

South Devon is renowned for its beautiful countryside, picturesque villages and mild climate. The beaches of South Devon and Torbay are within easy reach, with Dartmoor just 20 minutes away by car.

Enjoy a wide range of accommodation, including single rooms, twins, doubles, and suites furnished to offer a superb mix of heritage and comfort.

After a good night’s sleep, lulled by the peaceful surroundings, you can wake to birdsong and stunning views of the South Devon countryside and enjoy a first-class breakfast in the White Hart Restaurant.

A £1million refurbishment of all bedrooms was completed in 2011.

Getting HereBy Car

If arriving by car we do operate car parking charges. This is charged at just 30p per hour – payable by cash or mobile phone and contributes directly to the trust.

If you are staying at Dartington as a resident this charge will be in-cluded in your room rate and a permit will be issued at check-in.

By Rail

Totnes Train Station is about 5 minutes away by taxi.

The main railway station is located 1.5 miles away in Totnes. Approxi-mate journey time is 3hrs from London Paddington or Birmingham. Taxis & buses are readily available.

If you are travelling light, Dartington Hall is a very pleasant 30 minute walk from the station.

DirectionsFrom London & the North

The M5 becomes the A38 at Exeter. Follow the signs for Plymouth and take the exit signed Buckfastleigh, Totnes and Dartmouth. Head south towards Totnes on the A384. After approximately 5 miles when you pass the Dartington village sign, turn left immediately past the church, onto the Dartington Hall Estate and follow the drive to the crest of the hill. 200yds ahead you will find the main car parks on your left, adjacent to the main courtyard entrance on your right.

From the West

Take the A38 from Plymouth, the A385 from Marley Head. Upon reaching the roundabout at Dartington village, turn left at the next roundabout go straight over and then turn right before the church, onto the Dartington Hall Estate and follow the drive to the crest of the hill where 200yds ahead you will find the main car parks on your left, adjacent to the main courtyard entrance on your right.

The Dartington Way: Our aim is to work with local suppliers to source the best of our local products. These partnerships are based on the values of our charitable trust whose vision is to create a society that is sustainable, just and enriching. We try to use local organic, free range and fair trade products as much as possible.

We work with suppliers like the family owned brewer St Austell’s, the coffee sup-plier Origin, local produce and meat suppliers also Sharpham for their local cheeses and wines.
