ACTIVITIESThe MIDC has been declared as an agent of the state government for carrying out activities within the framework of the MID Act and the MID Rule

These activities are in three broad categories:

Acquisition and disposal of land.

Provision of infrastructure facilities.

Providing services supply of potable water from MIDC's own water treatment plants, maintaining roads, street lights, drainage lines etc.

Special Planning Authority for development of industrial estates.

Effluent collection and disposal systems for chemical zones.

Providing residential areas for housing industrial workers.

Construction and maintenance of Airstrips and helipads.

There are 229 functioning industrial areas in MIDC covering over

60000 hectares of land spread all over the State. MIDC is acquiring

50000 hectares of additional land for industries.MIDC Develops Industrial Parks keeping in view the Specific Feature of The

Region. The Lands are allotted to the clients accordingly. Thus MIDC succeeds in

overall Regional Development.

MIDC is the Special Planning Authority in industrial area

Excellent quality water available at affordable rates 24x7x365.Provision of Fire Protection Services .

Manages and owns 12 Airports/Airstrips. Now, privatizing 6 Airports.

Developed specialized industrial parks for sectors like Information Technology,

Biotechnology, Floriculture, Agro Processing, Textiles (Apparel & Garment),

Grape Wine Processing, Gems & Jewellery and Engineering.

Sectoral Development

Multi Service Facilitation Centers like Banking, Postal, Lodging &

Boarding, Education, Hospital, Police Station are provided at Industrial Estates.

MIDC is also facilitating Inland Container Depots (Dry Ports).

Development Of Support Services

New Gas Distribution Company (MIGTCL) formed for creating Gas

Distribution Network in industrial areas. All major industrial areas

and SEZs & nearby townships will have Gas Distribution Network in 3 years.

Industrial areas are spread evenly in all 35 districts of Maharashtra.

All Areas are managed & maintained by Experienced Civil,

Mechanical, Electrical Engineers placed in each Industrial Estates.

All these industrial parks are managed by 12 regional offices.
