DASH7 Certification
A global program designed to offer a neutral resource
to provide testing and certification of tags and readers
based on:
ISO 18000-7 Standard
ISO 18047-7 Conformance Test Methods
DASH7 Alliance Extensions
DASH7 Alliance Owns the program

Strategic Reasons for
Certification
Certified products reduce costs of implementations
Minimize integration issues related to conformance andinteroperability
Reduce product development costs Qualified test equipment
Grow adoption of ISO 18000-7 based technology Minimize investment risks for End-User companies
Allow vendors with certified products to differentiatethemselves

DASH7 Certification
Conformance Testing Testing conducted to measure a devices conformance to a given standard.
ISO 18047-7 Conformance Test Methods will be used as a base to developConformance Test specification and test scripts.
Interoperability Testing Testing conducted to measure a devices ability to operate with other devices.
In the absence of ISO interoperability test methods, DASH7 will developInteroperability Test Methods and test scripts.
A device must pass both tests to get certified.
Notes
Performance testing is not included in the certification program
PlugFest is not a certification

Test Cases
DOD Test Cases
Automated and are executed using PAT Java scripts used under RFID III
Participants with readers need to provide laptop with scripts and CAI driver for executing
the scripts
Enhanced to include data for EPCglobal, Sensors and GPS
Test scripts for the enhancement developed by DASH7 T&C WG (available on Kavi)
Finalized scripts will be provided to the participants
Vendors that did not participate in RFID III should develop their own test scripts
Out of the box Test Cases
All Readers will read each Tag that has been written to by all other Readers
A Reader will read a tag from a population of Tags
Note:
All test cases are available to DASH7 T&C WG members under PlugFest 2010 Kavi folder

Out of the box cont
Participants need to have an user interface that is able to command a
reader to execute mandatory commands as outlined in the Out of the
box test cases
Responses from tags should be decoded and made visible to engineer
from MET Labs so that the data can be verified.
Tags need to be pre-programmed with specific data in the user
accessible memory locations
this data will be provided to each participant before the PlugFest
MET Labs may revise the current documents.
Advance notice will be provided if changes are made.
