Thank you for volunteering to help out at the MK Marathon on Bank Holiday Monday May 6th.

For those of you that helped out last year – you did an amazing job in delivering a successful event, which has now received the BARR GOLD Award for organisation and planning excellence, so very well done. For those of you new to helping out - WELCOME.

The runners and planning team are extremely grateful that you are giving up your time to help deliver Milton Keynes’ flagship running event.

We have allocated you as a MARSHAL to the following Course Director...

At the briefing you will be issued with laminated instructions, medical procedures card, event crew T-shirt, packed lunch, Hi-vis vest and rubbish bags. You will also be awarded your event crew medal in advance for all your hard work.A mile manager will be responsible for each mile of the route and they will be responsible for you, ensuring you are looked after and know what you are doing.The main aspects of your role are looking after the runner’s safety

and needs - ensuring they stay on track, leaving Milton Keynes as we found it and providing a positive and fun marathon experience for all.You will be required to transport yourself from the race briefing to your allocated mile with some miles being further away than others, so please bear this in mind. Please ensure you bring a fully charged mobile phone and are dressed suitably for the weather on the day.
