We truly have a lot to be thankful for here in Los Gatos. I hope that all of our Van Meter families enjoy their time together with family and friends. Thank you to all of the amazing Van Meter families for their continued support of our school. Thank you to our amazing staff for the continued dedication and hard work they put in on a daily basis to support our students. I am also thankful for our amazing Home and School Club. Thank you to Margo Moore and our amazing Home and School Club Board for all of their hard work this year. From all of the terrific community-building events to the impact your donations are making in our classrooms, the impact of our Home and School Club cannot be overstated. I must also take a moment to thank Deborah Weinstein and LGEF for their hard work and continued support of Van Meter and its students. One final thank you to all of our amazing students for all of the amazing qualities they bring to our campus each and every day. I wish you all a safe and restful Thanksgiving break. Van Meter School will be closed all next week and classes will resume at 8:10 am on Monday, December 2nd. I wanted to give a shout out of gratitude to Dianna Hill and Pam Bond. Dianna Hill is a 5th grade teacher here at Van Meter and has done such an amazing job starting up our STEAM Garden/Outdoor classroom. Pam Bond wears many hats here at Van Meter and leads our Garden Club on site. Together, Dianna and Pam organized a Van Meter Beautification Day last Saturday. Dianna, Pam and their army of green-thumbed volunteers stormed our campus last weekend to help clean up our gardens and various parts of our campus. Thank you to Dianna, Pam and all of the volunteers for making this day so successful. I want to thank all of the parents that have been coming to participate in lunchtime supervision. Your presence makes a huge difference. We are always looking for more positive yard duty parents to show off their 4 square, ball wall, basketball or soccer skills with our students during lunch. Just 20-30 minutes on our blacktop and field during lunch makes a huge difference. We also have PAID positions available for anyone that is available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays from 11:45 am - 12:45 pm. Please reach out to me if you might be interested in this opportunity. Rick Rauscher Principal Louise Van Meter Elementary School
