Principal’s Report
The new Assistant Principal position has been filled through the merit selection process.
The successful candidate is Larissa Harman. Larissa will officially take up the role in
2016.
We had a great response to our bush dance last Friday. We estimate that 160 students
and family members joined us for the barbecue and dancing. A wonderful time was had
by all. A very big thankyou to the members of the Family/School Team who organised
this event. Thanks to Kristi Blachut, Lisa Bradley, Rose Banner and Rebecca Carless.
Next year we hope to have two parent representatives from each class to be part of the
Family/School Team, to organise social functions for our school community.
Today, a visiting author Rachel Spratt, entertained students with a presentation about
her exciting children's’ books. Rachel’s Nanny Piggins series proved very popular with
the children and they enjoyed asking questions about the writing and publishing
process. As she read excerpts from her stories, Rachel had the children in fits of
laughter. It was refreshing to see how excited they were about literature and the joy they
gained from stories. Thankyou to Gateway Bookshop for funding this author visit for our
students.
Today, all students will bring home a sports in school program brochure. This program is
also free to students and will take place each day in Week 8.
Regards, Mrs Reardon
Principal

Operation Art workshops
Last week twelve students attended
Operation Art workshops at the Wagga
City Art Gallery. The students were
chosen as they display considerable
artistic talent during art lessons in class.
They had the opportunity to engage in
sculpture, painting and drawing activities.
All returned to school very excited and
proud of the artworks they had created.

Term 4 Week 6 - 11th November, 2015
P&C News There was very good attendance at last week’s November meeting of P and C, with many parents keen to hear Mrs Reardon speak about the process by which classes will be selected for 2016. This gave those present an insight into the many factors which are taken into consideration during the extensive class allocation process. Thank you to Mrs Reardon for taking the time to make this presentation to the P and C.
Planning for the P and C’s major fundraising efforts at Warbirds Downunder has now hit fever-pitch. Those parents who indicated they were willing to cook or donate items should have received a note with further details last week. If you did not receive a note, please contact Edwina Sinclair on 0487 606 865 as soon as possible. Items to be donated should be handed in at the front office by this Friday. Those people who indicated they would be willing to help prepare food, or volunteer on the mess hall or stall on the Friday or Saturday, should receive a note with further details today. Any further queries can be directed to Edwina Sinclair.
We are still looking for a cool room in town (which is set at a temperature to store food items such as salad and sandwiches) which we could store food in on the night of Friday, November 20. We also need some early risers to help with preparing wraps at the school canteen on the Saturday morning, November 21. If you could help out in the canteen between 6am and 7am, please let us know. If you have any further queries, or would like to help in some way, feel free to speak to Vanessa Stimson, Jenny McRae, Sarah Lennon or Edwina. Thank you to all those who are helping to contribute to what we hope will be a very successful fundraiser for our school.
Some very important dates to remember … 1. 29 Nov TPS Family School Team have organised a School Disco in the school hall. The
very experienced DJ Smiley will be providing excellent music for our students. School staff will be supervising.
The cost is $3.00 per student which includes a sausage sizzle and a fruit box. 2. 20/21 Nov Major fundraiser - Catering at the Warbirds Downunder.
