Lumiere and Company

In 1995, 41 directors were challenged to use the original cinematographe that was created by the Lumiere brothers and create a film that was 52 seconds long, with no synchronized sound and no more than 3 takes.

David Lynch’s piece consists of many things that remain within his works; it delves into the supernatural, while dealing with a small town that incorporates eerie elements that make the viewer feel uncomfortable watching it.

The piece is regarded by many people as the best of the whole bunch.
