Day 4 Hope Prayer Guide
Week of July 2 Read Zechariah 4:6
Our Saturday, August 5th Day 4 Hope, and the year of sharing the love of Jesus throughout our neighborhood to follow, are beyond our strength, wisdom, and skill. It is a God-sized calling which requires humble and fervent prayer. Pray for our Trinity Day 4 Hope team, especially our team leaders Carol Harris and Sherrill Carr. Pray we would be faithful in seeking the Lord’s strength in all aspects of this effort, faithful to one another as we serve together, and faithful in listening to God’s direction above all things. Week of July 9 Read Mark 12:28-34
Pray for the families attending Day 4 Hope, for the staff and children of the Everyday Blessing Foster Home, and for the faculty and staff of Phillippi Shores Elementary School. Week of July 16 Read Matthew 25:31-40
Pray for our community partners- Hope 4 Communities which organizes the effort across the county, other congregations involved in the Day 4 Hope effort, Police, Firefighters, Businesses, Masons, Lions, and All Faith’s Foodbank. Pray for our generous professionals- Hairstylists, Dental, Medical, and Photography. Week of July 23 Read Acts 7:32-34
Walk our campus, imagining and blessing those who will serve and be served. Week of July 30 Read 1 Chronicles 16:34-36
Call on the power of the Holy Spirit to bring our entire neighborhood to saving faith, caring relation-ship, and joyful service to one another in Jesus’ Name.
Have you heard of the Opportunity Gap? It’s a trend in America based on the growing class divide between those who have easy access to resources and those who do not. Consider what your life would be like without access to credit, a car, a computer with internet access, or a job paying a living wage.
Now consider a time in America where local professionals lived in the same neighborhood as skilled workers. In that day the entire neighborhood became a network of caring adults who saw every child in the neighborhood as “our kids.” All the children in the neighborhood were resourced as needed and many rose from humble beginnings.
Today our neighborhoods are very different. We live more and more in less diverse neighborhoods. We are more and more isolated from each other. Where in America can we now cultivate those net-works of caring adults who see all children as “our kids?” The congregation and the school remain those places. Congregations and schools are in a community for generations and it will take genera-tions to change the trajectory of a child who is under resourced. This is why we partner with local schools. Thank you for your prayer, your time, your money, your skills, your love. God will take our humble offerings and multiply them beyond what we can ask or imagine. – Lisa <><

Day 4 Hope
DAY 4 HOPE Needs 1 Dentist and 1 Nurse Dear Church, God is on the move! I’m happy to share that we have Dr Kelly Harris and 4-6 LECOM dental stu-dents on board for Day 4 Hope. We are still looking for one more dentist with an active license. Your help is needed to invite your dentist to volunteer for Day 4 Hope at Trinity on August 5th to pro-vide a basic dental screening for each child. Forms are provided by the Department of Health for this purpose. Did you know that studies show the number one reason children miss school is dental problems.
Do you know a nurse you could ask to help with medical exams at Day 4 Hope? A team of nurses will take vital signs and record the information on the school physical exam form. Dr Ford, Dr Hunte and Dr Wittman will each need a nurse to assist her with the exams.
Some families find it difficult to provide their children’s health care. That’s why we want medical and dental screenings to be part of this event. When you visit your professionals will you invite them to serve? Pick up a flyer with my contact info the next time you are in Haley Hall to take with you. I will be glad to speak with anyone to answer questions potential volunteers have. 941-928-4828 Blessings, Carol Harris Thank you to these 2017 Day of Hope Team Leaders When they ask for help in their areas...we pray you will say yes!! Jonah, the Hard-Hearted Prophet
Jonah is not a book about a great fish. It's really the story of a man discovering the true charac-ter of God. Jonah takes a painful journey, unraveling the inner workings of his soul- his fears, motivations, and prejudices. In preaching salvation to his enemies, will Jonah discover salvation himself? Will we?

Caring and Connecting
Summertime brings many people through the doors of Trinity who are on vacation. The summer
season is also a time when families are moving to our area and may be looking for a home church.
If you see someone new in worship…..take time to introduce yourself, let them know how glad
you are to have them at Trinity. Consider before taking your seat in the sanctuary on Sunday morn-
ing to spend some time out in the courtyard having a conversation with someone new or someone
that you do not know.
Hospitalized or Upcoming Surgery/Procedure
Don’t forget to let the church office know if you are in the hospital or have an upcoming proce-
dure. We would love to pray for you as well as understand how we can care for you during this time!
Don’t forget…..if you are in the hospital, you will need to let the hospital staff know that you would
like Trinity to be contacted. The hospital will not contact us unless YOU let them know to do so!
In Need of a Resource to Help You Through a Difficult Time?
Are you or someone you know going through a difficult circumstance such as divorce, depression,
financial stress, anxiety, or death of a loved one? Care Notes are topic related booklets which say
the right words at the right time and make a healing difference in people’s lives. These booklets
communicate that God cares and is near no matter what situations you or your loved ones are fac-
ing. Find just the right one for you or a friend located on display in Haley Hall.
Caring for One Another
A BIG thank you to everyone who continues to care for others through your cards, visits, and
phone calls. Caring and connecting with one another cannot happen without YOU! It takes all of us
to care for everyone. We all need each other. We are a team!
If you are aware of someone who needs extra care please let us know. Simply call the church office,
[email protected], call/text (941) 350-2509, or drop a hand written note in Tammy or Pastor
Lisa’s mailbox!
You are important to Trinity. Please let us know you are worshipping
with us by signing the clipboard located in the pew each Sunday!
Additionally, if you have a praise report or prayer request we would
love for you to share with us by simply filling out a communication
card located on the back of the sign in clipboard.

Mission Team
Campbell’s Soup Labels for Education program is ending August 1, 2017. For many years we have collected Campbell’s Soup Labels for Education for Redbird Mission in Kentucky and McCurdy School in New Mexico. Please bring any remaining labels to the Donation Station in Haley Hall as soon as possible so they can be sent to meet the deadline. Campbell’s reports there will be a limited number of products that contain these labels in stores through August 1, 2017. Once all Labels for Education logos have been removed from the products, UPCs will no longer be accepted. Many thanks to Barbara Smith for packaging and shipping the soup labels and boxtops to Redbird Mission and McCurdy School. The General Mills Box Tops for Education program will continue as before.
Dear friends, Our remarkable missionary in the Dominican Republic, the Reverend Connie DiLeo, has been diagnosed with a malignant tumor, and will require surgery on July 5th and most likely additional treatment. At times like this, you wonder "why", and there is no reason. Unfortunately it's part of our hu-man existence, but we do know that your pray-ers will bring skill to the hands of the surgeons and the love of Jesus to comfort to her. Connie is such a special person, and the good that she has done for the poor people of Bom-bita and LaHoya as COPA project director over two schools and two clinics is immeasurable. Even after her term as director was finished she stayed on to act as an overseer and to create a new church from the ground up, built on faith, where she has continued to minister to the peo-ple and bring more people to Christ. The results are reflected in the result that the COPA schools are ranked among the best in the Dominican Republic, and numerous people have been raised out of poverty to a life of pos-sibilities. So please take a moment to say a prayer on her behalf. Many thanks, and God bless you. Marlene Huggins & The Entire COPA Board
Sarasota Lions will again do the vision screening as part of the back to school physical.
We will also be doing diabetes screen-ing. Hispanic and African American cultures have the highest rate of diabetes. Many of the Day4Hope kids come from this back-ground, so we will screen the adults.
Fasting is NOT REQUIRED! Any of our church volunteers are welcome to also be screened. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes. Results are 5 seconds!
The club will be involved with 5 churches, including Trinity, and poised to screen 800 kids over 2 weekends! July 22nd we will be at a Presbyterian Church and an Episcopal church.
You are WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED to help us that day.
High School students may also help and receive a letter for your community service requirement.
Just give Hank call, 809-7188.
ESOL: Currently we have 2 students, from Venezuela. It's fun to teach English to students with NO English! They are so eager to learn. I even give out homework. If you know of anyone that wants to improve their English or learn English, send them over.
We meet in the back of Haley Hall (with direct access to the coffee) at 9:00 am. Call Hank for more information: 809-7188.

A Balanced and Abundant Life
Living a wholistic life which feels balanced and goes on to produce the abundance that God desires for our future, requires us to fo-cus on the physical, spiritual, relational, and emotional areas of our life. This is because, how we live our life in each of these areas influences our entire well being.
Sunday 10:30 am This group will be focus-ing on learning how to add Food which is God’s medicine into our life. We will also in-corporate the physical, spiritual, relational, and emotional aspects needed to maintain balance in our life.
Thursday 2 pm This group will be focusing on learning how to bring more physical move-ment into our lives. We will also incorporate the spiritual, relational, and emotional aspects needed to maintain balance in our life.
