Day Reporting Centers

Mainly tools to reduce jail and prison overcrowding.

Offenders are still allowed to be in the community, they MUST spend all or most of their day at the reporting center.

Community based corrections center in which the offenders report on a daily basis for education, treatment, and incapacitation.

By offenders being

under a single roof

they are easily

supervised.

Tax Payers Pay:

$12 per day for an offender at the day reporting center in Morrow, Georgia

$45 per day to house an inmate at the state prison.

Day centers offer treatment programs for drug and alcohol abusers and provide counseling for many psychological problems such as depression and anger management.

In day reporting centers offenders meet with probation officers, submit urine tests, and attend counseling and education programs such as parenting life-skills.

After the year has passed and the offender has completed the course to the judges approval the charges will be dropped.
